This article is a preview for Industry season 2, episode 7, and may contain spoilers for previous episodes.

Industry is, essentially, HBO’s halfway point between Succession and Euphoria — a workplace drama about deplorable people in a cutthroat business who also happen to be drug-addled sex-mad sociopaths. It was a weird release in 2020, dumped in bulk onto both HBO Max in America and BBC iPlayer in the UK, but it obviously did well enough to justify a second season that, it seems, will follow a more traditional weekly release cadence.

Industry season 2, episode 6 recap

The second season continued with “Short to the Point of Pain” and delivered an absolute can’t-miss white-knuckle suspense ride. Here’s what happened, in summary:

  • A bunch of Redditors attempted a coordinated short squeeze of the stock Bloom was shorting, leaving Harper to navigate a potentially calamitous loss for her client.
  • Taking matters into her own hands, Harper stabs Rishi in the back to try and manipulate Bloom’s position and ends up being rumbled by DVD. Her position at Pierpoint is in serious jeopardy.
  • Yas slept with Celeste and discovered that her new boss is in a polyamorous marriage.
  • Gus had to weigh up what he wants from his life as his family pressures him to pursue the most prestigious and financially lucrative position despite him finding much more meaning in the work he’s already doing.

Industry season 2, episode 7 release date

The latest episode will release on Monday, September 12, at 9pm ET on HBO and HBO Max. It’ll be the sixth of eight episodes, airing every Monday between now and September 19.

Where to watch Industry online

As stated above, Industry is exclusive to HBO and HBO Max, where it can be viewed with a subscription.

Predictions:

IMDb hasn’t provided an official episode title or synopsis this week, so we’re going in blind with our predictions:

  • What will Gus choose to do? I can’t help but feel pained for that poor Scouse bloke. I’m betting Gus does the right thing and goes against his family’s wishes.
  • What are Harper and Eric cooking up? Given how she is it’s presumably a way to get back in the race, but how? And will Bloom’s burgeoning relationship with Leo mean he’s too disinterested to remain Harper’s big-money client?
  • Yas didn’t seem too thrilled with the idea of being an approved side piece. Her relationship with Celeste is likely to affect her new position in some way — is she going to feel as though she has made a mistake?
