This article discusses the Netflix film Blonde (2022), including the premise, release date, cast, and trailer.
One of the most talked about movies of the year is heading to Netflix in Blonde. The film is based on a novel by Joyce Carol Oates about the battles of the storied career of Marilyn Monroe.
According to Netflix – Based on the bestselling novel by Joyce Carol Oates, Blonde boldly reimagines the life of one of Hollywood’s most enduring icons, Marilyn Monroe. From her volatile childhood as Norma Jeane, through her rise to stardom and romantic entanglements, Blonde blurs the lines of fact and fiction to explore the widening split between her public and private selves.
Our opinion of the premise
I’ve got so many mixed feelings based on the premise alone because I know they blend some facts with reality. You have such an iconic personality that went through so much in life that having a movie that puts her through so much emotional and psychical trauma that isn’t 100% real seems odd. Biopics are one thing, but an NC-17-rated movie that is fictionalized is another.

Is there a trailer?
There sure is! Check it out below:
I will give credit where credit is due because the trailer is shot to perfection. The black and white makes Ana de Armas glow and disappear into the role of Marilyn Monroe. You get a taste of what is to be expected from the film and the internal struggle that she faces daily. While I am skeptical about the film’s premise, the trailer sells the movie in a way that makes you not want to miss it.
