This article discusses the Netflix Indian film Jogi, including the premise, release date, cast, and trailer.

The new Indian film Jogi is now getting ready to be released by Netflix on September 16. Filmed in New Delhi, in Hindi, it is yet another entry into the fast-growing lineup of Indian films on Netflix. Earlier this year, RRR was massively popular on the platform, gaining a lot of momentum even outside the country, and most recently, Delhi Crime season 2 started streaming on the platform. We’ll see if Jogi can replicate their success, to a certain extent at least.

Netflix film Jogi premise

From Netflix: “Amid tension in 1980s India, three friends of different faiths unite in a noble yet dangerous effort to save hundreds in their town.”

Our opinion of the premise

It’s definitely not Netflix’s most detailed premise, but it is promising. On the one hand, it will be interesting to see how Indians frame the conflict between the different religions living inside their borders, and how they believe they can put aside their differences and work together for a common cause. On the other hand, it feels like it will be another feel-good movie with no real stakes, so I really hope they go a bit deeper and explore some of the layers behind the conflict.

Jogi release date

Jogi will start streaming on Netflix on Friday, September 16, globally. It is one hour and 56 minutes long.
