This article discusses the Netflix series Santo, including the premise, release date, cast, and trailer.
A brand new Netflix original series is set to touch down from Spain very shortly. Santo is a crime thriller set on a huge scale, spanning opposite sides of the Atlantic and chasing a single individual. The needle-in-a-haystack premise suggests odds that could be quite interesting to follow
Has that pricked your ears up? Here’s everything we know about Santo:
As Netflix describes –
“Two cops on opposite sides of the Atlantic engage in a desperate hunt for a vicious international drug dealer whose face has never been revealed.”
Our opinion of the premise
This sounds like the kind of thing a lot of people are going to eat for breakfast. Santo has so much going for it. Whilst there is a very real risk that there could be too much going on for viewers to keep on top of, if the show balances all of its proposed elements correctly, it could be an absolute belter. The idea of such a widespread manhunt for a totally unknown individual offers so many directions in which the story could go, and makes Santo a show that could definitely be worth watching.

Is there a trailer?
Yes – watch it here:
Santo certainly has my attention. Everyone is a sucker for a cracking crime drama, and one would hope that with such a premise at play, this could be exactly that. There is a slight concern that it could get ahead of itself and perhaps get rather convoluted if it tries to be too clever – given the fact that the story will be set in so many different locations, this is something that I’m wary of. However, the high stakes it lays out are more than enough to want to take a punt on the show, so roll on its release!
