This article discusses the Netflix documentary series Fortune Seller: A TV Scam, including the premise, release date, cast, and trailer.

An intriguing docuseries detailing the life of convicted con artist and Italy’s former TV infomercial queen, Wanna Marchi, is set to premiere on Netflix next week. The series will delve deep into the lives of Wanna and her co-conspirator daughter, Stefania Nobile, from their initial rise to fame to their subsequent arrest. Interestingly, the two women participated in the documentary, meaning we’ll get to learn about the con from the unique perspective of the scammer. Here’s everything we know so far about the docuseries.

Fortune Seller: A TV Scam premise

The premise as detailed by Netflix: “Savvy saleswomen or devious scammers? Wanna Marchi and Stefania Nobile became the undisputed queens of Italian TV shopping — until they went too far.”

Our opinion of the premise

Back in the 80s, Wanna Marchi and Stefania Nobile were household names in Italy for selling weight loss creams, amulets, and even lucky numbers. Yes, you read that right, these two convinced viewers to part with their hard-earned money to purchase lucky numbers. Now Netflix is giving them a platform to tell their story of fame and conniving in their own words, and I’m not sure that’s a good thing. Wanna Marchi has always thrived in the spotlight, and now her infamy will reach global levels.
