We had the debut of the docuseries Legacy: The True Story of the LA Lakers span over nine weeks featuring ten episodes. The series followed Jerry Buss, his rise to become a businessman, to buying the Lakers to the rise/fall/rise/fall of that storied franchise throughout its history.

We saw the series come to a close that highlighted the present-day Lakers winning a title and everything else that followed. Throughout the series, we heard from coaches, players, front office, and journalists that told the tale of the team’s history. It was one of the more fascinating things we have watched because of the authenticity of the series. You had people being completely honest about what transpired during their time with this team. You had players who weren’t afraid over 30-40 years later holding grudges, and I couldn’t get over the fact that we had members of the Buss family throwing jabs at each other in this. It made for some incredible weekly television.

Will there be a season 2 of the Hulu docuseries Legacy: The True Story of the LA Lakers – renewed or canceled status.

Status: To be Determined.

With the series coming and going and being based up to recent times, I don’t see how they can have a season two about the Lakers. However, with the success of this series, I could see them tackling another storied franchise, whether within the NBA or other sports. After enjoying the series as much as I did, I would be 100% for it.

They could range from talking about the 90s/00s Yankee Dynasty to a more in-depth look at the Dallas Cowboys’ 90s run or tackling the Boston Celtics. These just begin to scratch the surface of the potential of where they could take this series.

With all that being said, as of right now, I don’t see them exploring the Lakers anymore, and because of that, I think we can safely say that this chapter of the Lakers franchise and docuseries has come to a close. But who is to say they can’t explore or make a part two of this series in like twenty or so years?
