Shows continuing from September
House of the Dragon — Arriving just two weeks before Amazon’s rival big-budget fantasy series—and that can’t be a coincidence, can it?—comes HBO”s first Game of Thrones spinoff. It’s a prequel set in Westeros two centuries before the events of Thrones that will trace the downfall of the House Targaryen (eventually including the Targaryen civil war, which earns the name “the Dance of the Dragons”).
Yvonne Orji: A Whole Me — Stand-up comedy special.
Pennyworth: The Origins of Batman’s Butler (Season 3) — The former Epix series moves to HBO Max for its third season, which also gets a new title to clarify things for viewers wondering whether or not it is a Batman-related series. (Hint: It is.)
Habla Loud — The latest installment of the award-winning “Habla” series from HBO.
Avenue 5 (Season 2) — The troubled crew of Avenue 5, a space cruise ship filled with spoiled, rich, snotty space tourists, must try and keep everyone calm after their ship gets thrown off course into space and ends up needing three years to return to Earth.
38 At The Garden — 38 At The Garden chronicles the extraordinary ascendance of point guard Jeremy Lin during his landmark 2012 season with the New York Knicks.
The Vow Part 2 — The Vow is an American true crime documentary series directed by Jehane Noujaim and Karim Amer that revolves around the cult NXIVM and its leader Keith Raniere.
Mama’s Boy — HBO documentary Mama’s Boy, directed by Laurent Bouzereau (HBO’s Natalie Wood: What Remains Behind), centers around the upbringing of the Academy Award®-winning screenwriter of Milk, Dustin Lance Black.
