This article is a preview for NCIS season 20, episode 1 and contains details of the release date, cast, and where to watch online.

One of the television’s longest-running police procedurals, NCIS doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon. The twentieth — count ’em! — season is upon is, and the stakes are as high as ever, with new dynamics to explore and fallout to sift through as the team attempts to track the Raven.

At this point, NCIS is a wide-ranging IP with multiple sub-series, and it seems like season 20 will actually begin by intertwining with the events of NCIS: Hawai’i before continuing on its usual path. (Some network TV storytelling is beginning to look more and more like a comic book by the year.)

Needless to say, fans of the show seem to have just as much reason as ever to tune in, so here’s everything we know about the latest episode.

NCIS season 20, episode 1 release date/time

The latest episode is slated to air on September 19, at 9 pm ET/PT on CBS.

Where to watch NCIS season 20 online

As mentioned above, NCIS airs on CBS. You can watch live on the cable channel or on-demand via the CBS website. The series is also available on Paramount+, accessible via a subscription.

Is there a trailer?

CBS haven’t released a trailer for the full season, but we do have a (very) brief promo for the premiere crossover event here:

How many episodes will NCIS season 20 have?

Previous seasons of the show have generally aired somewhere in the region of 18-22 episodes, although we’ve occasionally fallen under or gone over that average. You can probably expect Season 20 to fall somewhere in the middle, though.

Who is in the cast?

The rotating ensemble of NCIS has been a consistent pleasure over the years, and the following stalwarts will be reprising their roles:

  • Sean Murray as Timothy McGee
  • Wilmer Valderrama as Nick Torres
  • Rocky Carroll as Leon Vance
  • Diona Reasonover as Kasie Hines
  • Brian Dietzen as Jimmy Palmer
  • David McCallum as Donald Mallard

Season 19 said goodbye to Maria Bello, Emily Wickersham, and Mark Harmon, while Gary Cole and Katrina Law, both introduced in that season, will reprise their roles as Alden Parker and Jessica Knight. Teri Polo also becomes a series regular as Vivian Kolchak.
