This article discusses the Amazon Prime Video film My Best Friend’s Exorcism, including the premise, release date, cast, and trailer.

Spooky season has arrived, and Prime Video is getting us in the mood with their brand new horror movie, My Best Friend’s Exorcism. Here is everything we know about the film.

My Best Friend’s Exorcism premise

Prime Video says – The year is 1988. High school sophomores Abby and Gretchen have been best friends since fourth grade. But after an evening of skinny-dipping goes disastrously wrong, Gretchen begins to act…different. She’s moody. She’s irritable. And bizarre incidents keep happening whenever she’s nearby. Abby’s investigation leads her to some startling discoveries—and by the time their story reaches its terrifying conclusion, the fate of Abby and Gretchen will be determined by a single question: Is their friendship powerful enough to beat the devil?

Our opinion of the premise

I don’t care whose exorcism it is. I don’t have a single care in the world about any of these films. These movies get made, I watch them, and they are typically awful. So if we are going based on the premise alone and tossing in the idea of it being centered around an exorcism, my hype level is at minus ten.

My Best Friend’s Exorcism release date

The film will be released on Prime Video on September 30, 2022.

Is there a trailer?

There sure is! Check it out below:

It was my first time watching the trailer, and I will say that it wasn’t as bad as I thought. I hope it sticks a little more to the campy horror vibe with some funny laughs while also being horror-ish. It does have a nice little remix version of Tiffany’s “I Think We’re Alone Now,” playing in the backdrop of the trailer that I dug. Ultimately, while I am still skeptical, the trailer did a nice job of selling me on maybe wanting to give it a chance.
