This article is a preview for The Resident season 6, episode 1 and contains details of the release date and time, cast, and where to watch online.

Everyone loves a good medical drama, and perhaps especially in a post-pandemic world, it’s nice to have a reminder of the heroism of our everyday healthcare workers. Between NBC’s New Amsterdam and Fox’s The Resident, both beginning their fifth and sixth seasons respectably this Fall, there’s plenty of life-or-death drama to be had within the walls of our small-screen hospitals.

It’s no different at Chastain Memorial, where the doctors have seen their fair share of heartbreak, loss, and miraculous recoveries over five prior seasons. Between their professional endeavours and their personal turmoils, there’s all kinds of stuff to unpack in the latest season of this beloved drama. Fans will surely be tuning in, so here’s everything we know about the latest episode.

The Resident season 6, episode 1 release date/time

The latest episode is slated to air on Tuesday, September 20, at 8 pm ET/PT exclusively on Fox.

Where to watch The Resident season 6 online

As mentioned above, The Resident is exclusive to Fox. The channel is included in most cable packages and can also be accessed through its website and app, but those without cable can still find it through live-TV providers such as YouTube TV, Hulu with Live TV, Sling TV, or FuboTV.

As yet, the sixth season doesn’t have a release date or broadcast deal for the UK.

Yes — or at least a promo. Watch it here:

How many episodes will The Resident season 6 have?

Previous seasons have ranged from 14 to 24 episodes, so it’s difficult to tell at this point until Fox makes something official. A middle-ground of around 20 episodes wouldn’t be out of the question.
