Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend (2022)

This offering from the Iron Chef franchise premiered on Netflix in June this year and it’s everything a cooking show should be. In Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend there’s fierce competition, delicious-looking food, and some humor infused in each recipe.

MasterChef (2010 – )

Unlike Iron Chef, the contestants featured on MasterChef are amateurs looking to prove they’re the best at the craft of cooking. With 12 seasons available to binge and Gordon Ramsay on the judging panel, it’s no wonder the series is one of the most popular cooking shows ever produced.

Iron Chef: America (2004 – 2018)

The Iron Chef franchise started as a very popular show in Japan. The U.S. adaptation premiered in 2004 and ran for over a decade.

Chef School (2007 – )

This reality TV show isn’t a competition. Instead, it follows the challenges faced by culinary school students. Well worth a watch if you want to learn more about what becoming a professional chef entails.

The Next Iron Chef (2007 – 2012)

The Next Iron Chef took the competition to a whole new level. The contestants here were fighting for the opportunity to become the titular Iron Chef in the main series.

Crime Scene Kitchen (2021 – )

Hosted by Joel McHale, this show takes the baking competition format and adds an interesting spin to it. Contestants must figure out which desert was previously baked in the kitchen by searching for clues. They then need to recreate said desert for a chance to pocket $100,000.

Next Level Chef (2022 – )

Most cooking shows provide their contestants with the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art kitchen with full amenities. This series does things a little bit differently. While some of the chefs get to cook in a high-level kitchen, others have to make do with below-basic equipment. It makes for a nice change.
