This article discusses “Where was the Disney Plus film Hocus Pocus 2 filmed” and may contain minor plot references.

The Sanderson coven is back this Halloween, and it’s as if they never left Salem. Hocus Pocus 2 delivers a new tale for the next generation while subtly giving the witches we have grown to love a much-needed backstory. In this sequel, three young women, Becca (Whitney Peak), Izzy (Belissa Escobedo) and Cassie (Lilia Buckingham), accidentally bring back the Sanderson Sisters to modern-day Salem. They must figure out how to stop the child-hungry witches from wreaking havoc on the world. This is a strong sequel because it has a message about loving the people in your life regardless of disagreement. When the spooky season comes around, Hocus Pocus has always been an annual watch. Anne Fletcher has made an even better film for a new generation. With room for more covens in the future.

Where was the Disney Plus film Hocus Pocus 2 filmed – a breakdown of locations

Newport Rhode Island, USA

At Newport Rhode Island, USA, they filmed Washington Square, which would be Eisenhower Park and Touro Street. This would be the central focus of the series because it mostly takes place on that one Halloween night in the square. Those scenes are a lot of fun and carry the movie.

Rhode Island, USA

It’s interesting to know that they decided to film in Rhode Island because it does give a more homey feel to Salem. There was this comfortable yet eerie feeling at the same time because the production design really worked for it.

La Salle Academy Providence, Rhode Island, USA

Most of the school scenes were shot here at the La Salle Academy Providence, and it felt like it was a very old school. It’s not necessarily a gothic look for Salem but an updated location of the city’s history. That’s why it felt authentic to the town.

Lincoln, Rhode Island, USA

When they found Lincoln, the filmmakers knew that it would be perfect for Chase Farm, and that’s why it worked perfectly for those scenes. Scouting for important areas like this brings nostalgia for the original movie.
