It might have started off quite boring, but Tell Me Lies soon grew into itself and became a very exciting watch. With well-written characters, and relatable situations (most of the time), it was a show that many could imagine happening in their everyday lives. Following the lives of Lucy (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen (Jackson White), a couple that are very toxic to and for each other, their behavior has drastic consequences for those around them. It’s been well received, so does that mean it could return for a future season?
Based on the book of the same name, the show tells a complete story of an 8-year relationship. From meeting at college and then reuniting at a wedding, there has been no reason for the book to return. But is the same going to be said for the show? The final episode aired on the 26th of October 2022, so it could still be a while before we get a second season.

Yes, there will be season 2 of Tell Me Lies. On November 29th, 2022, Hulu confirmed that Tell Me Lies will be renewed. From the way the first season ended, it’s likely that most of the cast members will return, even if it’s just in flashback form. And I think, based on the critical reaction it got, it most likely will come back.
What will Tell Me Lies season 2 be about?
While the book may have included a complete story, the show certainly did not. There were several mini shocks along the way, with very little resolution. From shocking one-night-stands, shocking engagements, and characters continuing to be idiots, there is plenty of story left to play with in a potential second season.
But as the college storyline seems to be over, maybe the show will focus more on the 2015 timeline. There could be several repercussions from Bree and Evan’s wedding. And most of the audience will want to know what exactly has happened to Evan. Personally, I think that the writers have purposely left the finale unresolved, and that is so that there will be enough interest in the show coming back.
And if it does return, what form will it be in? As the first season has 10 episodes, if the show does return, we can likely expect it to have the same. But if there’s not enough source material, there’s a slight chance that any further seasons could be much shorter. Although, I think that is doubtful. Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable show, and it would be class if it was to return to Hulu for a second season, even if it’s just to give us all a bit of resolution.
