We discuss whether there will be a The School for Good and Evil 2, a sequel to the Netflix film The School for Good and Evil. Naturally, this article will contain spoilers.
After being in development for over a decade, Netflix finally launched the highly anticipated adaptation of Soman Chainani’s fantasy novel, The School for Good and Evil. Despite premiering to mixed reviews from critics, the film became the most-watched title on Netflix within a day of release. It’s clear the story of two best friends who found themselves on opposite sides in a fairytale school has captured the imagination of audiences worldwide. The film follows two girls, Sophie (Sophia Anne Caruso) and Agatha (Sofia Wylie), as they end up in magic realm school, where they have to face off against each other while trying to find a way to make it back home. As The School for Good and Evil is only the first part of the popular book series, what are the chances of Netflix greenlighting a sequel?
The School for Good and Evil sequel potential release date
Netflix has yet to confirm or deny whether there’ll be a sequel to the fantasy movie. However, if the film’s popularity is anything to go by, the second part is a very real possibility. The film spent a long time in its developing stages, but we expect it wouldn’t take as long to make a second part. As the streaming platform has a habit of releasing sequels as soon as possible, a second The School for Good and Evil within the next year or two isn’t out of the realm of possibilities.
The School for Good and Evil sequel cast – who might be in it?
Both Sofia Wylie and Sophia Anne Caruso have expressed their interest in reprising their roles as Agatha and Sophie. “I would love to do another one of these movies and many, many more,” Wylie told PopSugar. As for the supporting cast, we’d like to hope that Jamie Flatters, Kerry Washington, Cate Blanchett, and Charlize Theron would come back to reprise their magical roles.
The School for Good and Evil sequel plot: what could The School for Good and Evil 2 be about?
While there were some differences from the source material, the film does follow the main plot points from the book, so we’d expect a potential sequel to do the same. In the second book of the series, A World Without Princes, Agatha is initially happy with having returned to a normal life. Yet, she can’t help but miss her one true love, Tedros. She makes a wish, so both she and Sophie find themselves back at a now-reformed School for Good and Evil that’s been transformed into the School for Girls and Boys. Apparently, after the events in the first film, the Good and Evil schools were forcibly separated by gender, so the School for Girls represents “Good,” while the School for Boys is now on the “Evil” side. Realizing what they’ve done, the two girls end up fighting each other yet again, and they face even more challenges as a result of Sophie’s wish.
