This article discusses the possibility of Dead End season 2 and its renewed or canceled status. It may contain spoilers.
You’d be forgiven for not having heard of Dead End, a new Polish dark comedy on Netflix that the streamer has done a p**s-poor job of marketing. It’s a deliberately weird little diversion, six episodes of eccentricity blending the plot mechanics of a crime thriller with the tone of a road trip comedy. Its brevity makes it an ideal binge-watch, even if the story would have been better with a little more length and depth, and those who have powered through the show might be wondering about its potential future. Here’s everything we know.
Will there be a Season 2 of Dead End?
Renewed or canceled status: TBC
Netflix hasn’t confirmed the future of this series just yet, but it’s hard to imagine it being renewed for various reasons.
For one thing, as alluded to above, there just wasn’t much attention surrounding the release of Dead End in the first place. It barely has an IMDb page and doesn’t even have the usual Netflix key art or official trailer. This implies that Netflix didn’t have much faith in the story, to begin with, but it also suggests that it’s unlikely to thrive on word-of-mouth either since it’s likely to be completely lost within the thumbnails.
There also isn’t much artistic justification. The ending of the series is pretty conclusive, and it’s hard to imagine anyone would want to see more of these characters. If I had to make an educated guess, I’d assume that barely anyone will watch this — you can always keep an eye on Netflix Top 10 if you’re interested — and it will not be renewed for a second season.
