The White Lotus is a satire of the overprivileged set within the exclusive grounds of a pampered hotel chain. The first season, which did so well for HBO that it was renewed for a second season despite being billed as a limited series, was set in Hawaii, while the second is set on a lush Sicilian island, but both share the same essential DNA — they’re about the hollow lives of the filthy rich, not all whom will survive.
The show’s creator Mike White isn’t crafting a murder mystery here, though. The deaths are, in many ways, inevitabilities, the cost of cramming so many egos, delusions, and unhealthy dynamics into one location. And the location itself is beautiful, even if the people in it tend not to be — at least on any level other than the surface. Alternately hysterical and terrifying, the second season promises another eight episodes of sand, sun, and scandal.

- Ethan continued to suspect that Harper didn’t believe his excuse for the condom wrapper she discovered. He began to suspect that she and Cameron had sex when they went for drinks, but the episode deliberately didn’t reveal either way.
- The di Grasso family took Lucia with them as a translator to try and find their long-lost relatives. She was forced to leave with Alessio and the men were chased away by their cousin at knifepoint.
- Quentin threw a party, during which Tanya got coked up and was introduced to a well-hung Italian drug dealer with a pistol and connections to the mafia.
- Jack got very drunk and implied that he “did things he didn’t want to do” with Quentin because Quentin got him out of a hole he was in.

Predictions:
There is no official synopsis to give anything away, but here are some general predictions:

- What is Quentin up to? I imagine it’s something connected to organized crime, hence the whole “coming into money” think Jack was talking about. Will Tanya’s proximity to that subplot make her one of the likely victims?
- I think Lucia and Alessio’s whole “thing” is a ruse to rip off the entire Di Grasso family.
- I don’t think Ethan and Harper will be together at the end of the finale — if they both survive.
The first season only had six episodes.
