We discuss 10 K-Drama Shows like Connect you must watch. Check out these excellent Korean Drama recommendations.

Korean dramas have been ramping up on streaming services, and Disney+ has generated another great story.

In the K-Drama Connecta man is kidnapped, and one of his eyes is removed by a gang of organ hunters. His eye was transplanted into the body of a serial killer. The unwilling donor now has terrible visions as he witnesses terrifying attacks on the residents of Seoul, as per the synopsis on IMDB.

To be able to have that connection with a serial killer and have an out-of-body experience, unable to control the visions you are seeing, is quite the concept. This is a crime/fantasy drama that puts the viewer into the mind of two very different men to see how their morals are tested.

The series on this list have fantastical elements while they also deal with crime, romance, and a little bit of magic, to make their stories intriguing.

10 K-Drama Shows like Connect you must watch

Reborn Rich (2022)

After ten years, a loyal employee is framed for embezzlement, then murdered by his employers, only reborn as their youngest son, with a yearning for revenge guiding his hostile takeover. The concept of being reborn as their youngest son while seeking revenge has a toll on the family dynamics, which makes this so interesting to watch.

Tomorrow (2022)

Made half-human and half-spirit by accident, a young man is employed by a company of grim reapers in the underworld to carry out special missions. The way the title works into the show is impressive because, with each new day, death can follow, and the grim reapers that are present in the show make decisions that impact the characters.

Alchemy of Souls (2022)

The fate of two people becomes intertwined due to the soul of the dead who returns to the living. If you’re able to accept destiny and be one with the universe, whatever happens in your life will somewhat be explained. It’s important to always think that things are meant to happen for a reason, even when two people come together at certain times.

Happiness (2021)

An apocalyptic thriller that takes place in a time in which infectious diseases have become the new normal. After the three years that we’ve had, a story with an infectious disease doesn’t seem too apocalyptic anymore. So a series like this hits a bit too close to home, and sadly reality does make that connection in this case.

Missing: The Other Side (2020)

A village holds spirits of missing, deceased people. A search to find the missing bodies and discover the truth behind their disappearance occurs. The concept of spirits being held in one location in a village, while people search for the missing bodies is interesting. Especially when those spirits barely connect with the bodies in question.

Lovers of the Red Sky (2021)

Set during the Joseon era, Hong Chun Gi is a female painter with genius-like painting talent. She is picked as the first female painter of the Dohwaseo. For her, painting is everything. One day, she meets Ha Ram. They say to never meet your heroes and in this case, when she meets Ha Ram, her whole life changes and she goes on a journey of self-discovery.

Tale of the Nine-Tailed (2020)

An urban dark fantasy drama about a gumiho who settles into the city and a producer who is after it. Creature features are always fun to watch, but when it’s a slow build in a television series, it just makes it even more worth watching.

Jinxed at First (2022)

Seven years ago, Soo Gwang had a perfectly normal, happy life but all that changed when he saw Seul Bi, a woman who, despite their brief meeting, changed his life forever. In fantasy shows, the romance does hit differently, and in this case, it alters the life of Soo Gwang. The connection between two people could never be broken and they can go on a journey.

Ghost Doctor (2022)

Cha Young Min is a genius doctor but arrogant and selfish. One day, he gets involved in an unexpected case; his spirit possesses another doctor’s body. These two doctors are complete opposites in personalities and medical abilities. To see two very different approaches to medicine is interesting in this case. They have different ways of treating their patients and how they live their daily lives.

The Sound of Magic (2022)

When she was little, Yun Ai dreamed of becoming a magician. But in reality, she’s just a high school student who can’t even afford new socks. After meeting a mysterious magician at a carnival, she decides to follow her dream. This rag-to-riches story makes for an interesting premise, as a young girl’s dream comes true through the power of magic.

I love K dramas! Most are about the stories. As an American, it’s a needed and welcomed change. I’m so tired of agendas and sex being forced on me. Korean dramas there’s barely any touching, which I like so I focus on the story. I’m currently hooked on Alchemy of Souls, a love story of a fated couple. It’s not the typical Hollywood formulaic take so I never know what to expect. It has action, suspense, mystery. Love it!
