We discuss predictions for the HBO Max series Doom Patrol season 4, episode 4, and include the release date and where to watch online.

The Doom Patrol has saved the world and now they can get back to their carefree existence. Oh, wait, no they can’t, they are all still emotional wrecks. In “Nostalgia Patrol”, the gang re-evaluates their lives and searches for new purposes now the apocalypse has been postponed. It’s a much-improved installment that focuses more on character development and some fun, inventive artificial realities for viewers to ogle at. Here’s what happened in episode 3 of Doom Patrol season 4:

  • Rita is invited to a Retrospective cinema night of all her best screen performances. At the cinema, she is engulfed in a strange, green fog and awakens inside the films. She is trapped inside them and so are all the other actors.
  • Jane tries to find her new purpose but is distracted by a mist that gives her an orgasm.
  • Vic meets up with his old friends. They talk about their lives and the passing of Vic’s mother. Things start off positively, but soon they show their true feelings. They are hurt by the way Vic abandoned them and fear they cannot trust him again.
  • Larry hunts for Keeg. Rouge suggests he looks for a new purpose in life now that his powers are gone and Keeg has abandoned him. Larry tells Rouge to go and apologize to Rita instead.
  • Rouge organizes a team-building workshop and the gang goes to support Rita at her Retrospective. They are tricked by the fog and end up inside Rita’s films as well. Only Rouge escapes, transforming into a bird to avoid the fog. Inside the films, Larry meets a man called Mr. 104, who explains the creator of this hell – Dr. Janus.
  • Rouge researches the villain Dr. Janus. She is an emotional vampire, who can create artificial worlds and hallucinations. The file has no advice on killing the monster though, as these passages are redacted. Rouge decides to get drunk instead and talks to herself about her regrets. She vows to reinstate Rita as the team leader.
  • In a sci-fi film, Mr. 104 introduces them all to Dr. Janus. He traps Rita’s friends in a prison and sets it on fire. She must save them before they die. Rita goes to the rescue and produces even more emotions as she talks about her love for the gang. Dr. Janus takes the necklace containing the emotional juices and leaves them all for dead. Keeg saves the day though, dissolving the artificial reality around them.
  • Vic and his friends play laser tag and have a real heart-to-heart. In the end, Deric passes Vic the robot toy and he feels accepted in the group once more.
  • Cliff carries Rita back to their base, but she still remains unconscious.

Doom Patrol season 4, episode 4 release date and time

Episode 4 is scheduled to release on HBO Max on Thursday, December 15th, 2022, at 12 am PT.  Episode 4 is titled “Casey Patrol” and will have a run time of 40 minutes.

Where to watch online

Viewers can catch Doom Patrol season 4, episode 4, with a subscription to HBO Max on the date mentioned above.

  • The gang will help to resuscitate Rita, and Rouge will offer her the old team leader position once again. I think Rita will decline the role though and accept Rouge as their new leader. Rouge will apologize to Rita and own up to her past mistakes.
  • The next episode’s title refers to a new character called Casey Brinke, played by Madeline Zima. Fans will be well aware of this Doom Patrol character, who is making her first appearance in the show.
  • I think the series will move away from these old enemies and may concentrate on a new villain for the gang to face. Hopefully, they can defeat this one, unlike the zombie butts and Dr. Janus who still remain at large.
