Summary
As things unravel for Somen, so does the show. The uneven writing took the emotion right out of this episode.

We are winding down to the final two episodes of Welcome to Chippendales, with a lot to unpack. First, we have Somen (Kumail Nanjiani) and his struggles to do anything right, while Nick (Murray Bartlet) does everything right with the touring Chippendales. What goes wrong next? Let’s dive in.
Welcome to Chippendales Season 1 Episode 7 recap
The episode begins with a big performance of the Chippendales in Cincinnati. Then, we follow the Chippendales across the United States with a montage of Nick, Denise, and Bradford, all doing a wide range of things, from kissing each other to doing drugs to celebrating all the money they are making. Next, Denise calls to book a venue for another leg of the tour, but she finds out that Somen has already booked the venue.
Of course, Nick FREAKS OUT on Somen, telling him he can’t launch a competing tour. However, Somen tells him he can do what he wants as he owns Chippendales. Before Nick hung up, he said that Somen would be hearing from his lawyers. In his office, the lawyer tells him that the courts shut down his attempt to go on tour. Once she leaves, Irene says that Nick dupped him. Then we see Somen take some pills, which is alarming to Irene.
The tour continues, and Bradford has to head back to New York. Bradford brings up that the relationship between Nick and Denise is starting to bother him. He says he doesn’t want to make him choose, but he might do it anyway. Nick tries to calm him down and heads onto the bus. At Somen’s, Irene breaks the news they might have to sell the house. He tries to say he has this, but Irene has significant doubts. Welp, back in his office, Somen is doing a whole lot of drugs.
He heads outside, sees a massive line of people, and lets them ALL in regardless of whether they are too full. Next, we see the Fire Marshall come in and shut it down. Then, Somen slips out the back without being caught. Now, the city has shut down the club because of his actions. Irene tells him it’s over, and he asks what is, and she says Chippendales LA is over.
How does Nick handle his relationship with Denise?
As the tour hits Texas, Nick tells her he is heading back to New York. She has handled the tour, booking the dates, and everything in between. Denise tries to say they had a deal, but he wants to be in New York with Bradford because he loves him. She says, “you are going to pick him over me?” Then, she brings up that he was with a woman before and that he could pick her, but he says, “I was in love with her,” and that breaks her heart, and she walks away.
Back in New York, Nick tries to call Denise, who isn’t handling things very well without him. Next, Bradford comes in to talk about taking over England with their next leg of the tour. The two embrace with a massive kiss, and Nick has an enormous smile on his face as he has never been happier. Moments later, we see a strange man walk into Nick’s office and hear two gunshots while Bradford is in the bathroom. Bradford walks into the office, and Nick is on the floor, covered in blood.
Ending Explained
Somen comes home, and Irene breaks the news that Nick has been shot and killed. He asks a few questions about who saw what, and Somen tries to say, “it was a random robbery or something.” The following day, Denise is at Somen’s gate and freaking out. She is screaming, calling him a murderer. Irene comes outside, and Denise says that he is a murderer and blood is on her hands. Next, as she goes inside, Irene says she will call the cops, but Somen slams down his hand on the phone and says don’t call the police. Finally, Irene says she noticed 15 thousand was missing from the safe and asked him what he did with that money.
She rushes to the bedroom and attempts to start packing her bags. Somen confronts her, says you know me, and she smacks him and says I don’t know you, grabs their kid, and leaves. Before she can go, Somen tells her I’m sorry, but he wouldn’t say for what, and she leaves.
The FBI questions Somen about what happened with Nick. During the questioning, Somen is acting completely weird as they ask him hard-hitting questions about his relationship with Nick. After the meeting, the agents think he is guilty, but there is no evidence. The episode ends with Somen opening the closet and grabbing a cookie bag with a gun inside it. I don’t know what it is, but I did not love this episode at all. I felt like they really blew the entire Nick dying thing in a big way.
