We are on the home stretch of Welcome to Chippendales with two episodes left. Before we jumped into that, this week, we saw a battle between Somen (Kumail Nanjiani) and Nick (Murray Bartlet) finally find some calmness. However, Chippendales in LA is starting to fall apart by the day. Here is everything that went down in season 1, episode 6.
- The episode begins with us in New York, and Chippendales is hitting all-time record numbers. After the great performance, Nick is riding a high chatting up with Brooke Shields and Calvin Klein, until Somen interrupts, making things weird.
- Nick has had about enough of Somen showing up and wants to start US Male. However, Denise and Bradford talk him off the ledge, and Bradford comes up with a new idea, the touring Chippendales, and Nick loves it.
- Back in LA, Somen has missed another deposition causing his lawyer and Irene to be pissed at him. She tells him they will lose everything if he doesn’t take this seriously.
- Nick has arrived in LA to sit down and chat with Somen about the Chippendale tour.
- At lunch, the two come to an agreement over the tour. Somen gets 50% of the profits and doesn’t have to provide a single dime. The pair agree and use a napkin (Somen didn’t want to bother with the lawyers) to form the agreement.
- Somen comes home to tell Irene the big news and gives her a new necklace. She tells him that it’s too expensive and to take it back. On the tour front, he promises her that it will all work out numbers-wise.
- When she tries to return the necklace, the jewelry talks her into keeping it.
- Somen loses the court case, forcing them to discuss filing for bankruptcy. However, he says to Irene the calendar sales and the tour will get them back on track.
- The calendars come in, and everyone is excited. However, the printing company put 31 days in every month and didn’t put them in order. We find out it was all 500 thousand copies of the calendar.
- Somen is forced to file bankruptcy.
- Although the club is hurting, he promises Ray and the dancers everything is fine.
- After getting his second check from Nick, Somen questions if they are getting the right amount. Irene asks him if he has seen the numbers that would be in the agreement, and she finds out that it was a napkin agreement. Of course, Irene freaks out on Somen.
- As the episode ends, Somen gets a call from his mother, who found out what Chippendales was and tells him that he is a failure.
