“To Catch a Mouse” focuses on two main narratives. The first is the ongoing feud between Poppy (Charlotte Nicdao) and Ian (Rob McElhenney), which goes from innocent enough bickering into serious, hurtful territory quite fast. The second is a more laid-back storyline involving the Mythic Quest employees: David (David Hornsby), Brad, Jo (Jessie Ennis), and an escaped rat. - Ian and Poppy argue over a post-it note in the office. Ian says it’s an eyesore, while Poppy says she needs notes to help with her creativity. The argument then turns to the topic of air conditioning. Ian likes it cold, and Poppy wants it hotter.
- Jo and Brad discuss how degrading their jobs are. Brad is making drinks for Rachel. Then David asks Jo to get rid of a rat in his office. Brad and Jo decide to work together to catch this rat. Jo orders everybody to leave the building.
- Poppy and Ian argue some more. Poppy brings up how Ian never does any work, he’s always messing about in the metaverse. They go to Dana to settle the argument, but she doesn’t want to be involved. Ian and Poppy order the lights to go up and down until Dana storms off.
- David and Dana meet in the boiling heat outside. They bond over their hatred for Ian and Poppy. All the Mythic Quest employees soon join them outside. David and Dana realize that the office is now empty and air-conditioned, they go back inside.
- Brad and Jo struggle to catch the rat, laying an elaborate trap, but they manage to succeed in the end. They hand David the rat, who has now had babies.
- Ian proposes a new efficiency pod for Poppy as a compromise. However, she pulls the idea apart, calling it a bad idea; it’s just a cubicle. Ian is distraught to have had a ‘bad’ idea and storms off.
- Poppy finds Ian on the rooftop. They argue some more. Ian is annoyed that Poppy left him out of the idea’s process, but Poppy replies by saying how Ian is never around to help out. In the end, it all boils down to one thing, Ian doesn’t want to be involved in Poppy’s game. Poppy is upset and cries. Ian throws a chair.

Predictions
- Ian and Poppy’s relationship has hit its lowest point ever. They fundamentally disagree on everything now and Ian’s admitted he doesn’t want to be involved in her project. They will either pull further apart or find some way to reconnect. Will Dana be the one to bring these two back together?
- Brad and Jo are both feeling underappreciated. If Rachel and David don’t sort this out, then they might have more employees walking out on them. David needs a big gesture to appease Jo, and Rachel needs to let Brad in on at least one big idea.
- The Mythic Quest movie has gone quiet again. Let’s hope this subplot returns before the end of the season. There’s lots of comedy gold to mine from this particular storyline.
