In our age of reboots, sequels, revivals, redos, and reimaginings, it was only a matter of time before the House of Mouse turned its attention to National Treasure, a brand made iconic in the mid-2000s thanks to two excellent Nic Cage movies that wove exciting treasure hunts and conspiracies around American history. National Treasure: Edge of History is a ten-part Disney+ series that reimagines the brand for the Gen Z crowd to… let’s say mixed results.
Here’s what happened in Episode 4:
- Jess was unable to solve the Elvis clue. Luckily she was distracted by an invite to Sadusky’s wake, which attracted virtually every major character in the show.
- It also attracted Riley Poole from the films, who the kids asked for help in solving the riddle.
- Jess and Riley found themselves accidentally stuck in Sadusky’s clue room, running out of oxygen, and forced to figure out the passcode.
- Liam was able to get over his grandfather’s death a little with help from Myles, and performed at the wake.
- Jess figured out the real meaning of the Elvis clue, which she shared with the gang. However, at the end of the episode, Riley called to tell her that one of her friends was selling her out to Billie.

The latest episode is scheduled to be released on Wednesday, January 4 at 12 am PT, 3 am ET, and 8 am GMT, exclusively on Disney+.

Predictions
- Looks like we’re going to Louisiana!
- I know the show is setting Liam up to be the traitor here, but I don’t think it’ll be him. Ethan is probably the likeliest candidate.
- While we know Billie has the Elvis clue, we thus far have seen no evidence of her solving it. However, Jess found out about the potential traitor after telling the rest of the group what she had figured out, so I think we can assume Billie’s spy has already passed on the information.
