We discuss predictions for the Paramount+ series 1923 Season 1 Episode 5, including the release date and where to watch online.

Maybe the only thing more shocking than the end of that third episode of 1923 is the break 1923 is taking. Before the final scenes of episode four, titled “War and the Turquoise Tide,” Paramount+ announced that the Taylor Sheridan series will not return with all new episodes until February 5th, 2023. Yes, we will have to wait almost a month to find out if Jacob, Cara, and the rest of the Dutton members will survive a harsh winter while waiting for Spencer to arrive.

Wait, did I ruin the secret? Yes, Harrison Ford’s Jacob is alive.

Here’s what happened in 1923 Season 1 Episode 4:

  • We find out that Jacob is still alive and has survived the night. Cara tends to him.
  • Cara gives Zane a note to mail to Spencer. He insists on a wire to be quicker and talk to the sheriff, but Cara insists on keeping things quiet.
  • Banner is funded by a miner named Whitfield to form an army to take over the Dutton property so he can get exclusive drilling rights in the Yellowstone mountains.
  • Jack is alive, and so is Elizabeth, who is running a fever. However, when her mother shows up, she tells her that her father has died.
  • Elizabeth refuses to leave with her mother and stays, intending to marry Jack.
  • Cara takes charge of the cattle association, implementing a plan that Jacob is hunting thieves that killed Bob Strafford in Wyoming, trying to buy time until Spencer gets home.
  • Finally, while reading the stack of unopened letters from his Aunt, Spencer has Alex read them to him. When they reach the last one, the couple gets to the one where “war” has come upon the Duttons. When was the letter dated? Three months ago.

1923 Season 1 Episode 5 Release Date and Time

Episode 5 is scheduled to release on Paramount+ on Sunday, February 5th, 2023, at 3:00 a.m. ET. The title and runtime of Episode 5 are unknown at the time of this article’s publication.

Where to watch online

As mentioned, 1923 can be watched exclusively on Paramount+ with a subscription. The streaming platform has plans as low as $4.99 a month. New streaming customers can get a 7-day free trial or a Walmart+ subscription plan.

  • Jacob will survive the harsh winter because we see him in the trailer. However, you never know with Sheridan and company. Look for Banner to make a move soon.
  • The introduction of Timothy Dalton’s character is an interesting one since he is a character who wants to do the most damage to the Dutton property in the history of the series. He has the money and the means, so when does he make his move? Look for Whitfield to double-cross Banner and try to confirm Jacob’s health issues next episode.
  • Teonna is heading home, but at what cost? She is headed across treacherous territory without proper clothing and rations. I predict the evil head of the school will send men for her. Why? One is to set an example for the other students. Two, he will not want it getting out of what happens in that boarding school.
  • I can see Zane and Jack butting heads very quickly. The aforementioned second in command to Cara is level-headed and a good sounding board, while Jack is young, naturally a hot head, and wants revenge. Look for him to make a move without approval and get himself in trouble with dangerous consequences.
  • The biggest mystery is how and when Spencer will get home. Also, will Alex be accompanying him? I say it still will not be until the final two episodes. I think Alex will go with him, but will she make the trip safely? I say no; there will be tragic consequences. And Banner and company will feel his wrath.

You can watch this series with a subscription to Paramount+.

As a huge fan of Taylor Sheridan and Paramount I am sad to hear you are depriving your audience for a month of 1923 but happy to hear that 1883 has the go-ahead another season. It’s none of my business but your base is frustrated and fickle. I am a loyal fan.

Why the break in time ? Why one month wait . I paid to see a series of eight or ten episodes and play games that really p**s me of , Please explain the month break without BS .

I paid to watch 14 episodes of Yellowstone, now have to wait for the last 1/2 of the season.
Now I have to wait a month to see more of 1923! I really like these shows but I’m seriously rethinking if I’m going to continue to pay to watch something then be held hostage waiting for more episodes to be released. So after the 1923 & Yellowstone seasons end that I’ve paid to watchIm not watching anymore.

Boy, why wait til then? Can’t Taylor Sheridan keep up or what? Looks like he has bitten off more that he can chew. This really p-isses me off.

As if Yellowstone audiences weren’t already p*ssed off about having to subscribe to a new streaming platform at the beginning of Season 5 Taylor and Co. are at risk of losing their remaining faithful fans with delays between seasons, interruptions in releasing episodes of the “prequels” and increased streaming charges. Kinda feels like collusion between show creators and Paramount + to drive up subscriptions. I’m getting really tired of this and I know I’m not alone.

Yeah pretty annoyed that we have to wait 3 weeks in-between episode 4 to 5 . It’s the only reason I subscribe to paramount and am now being forced to pay for it longer if I want to watch the rest of the season . From now on I’m not going to sign up for any streaming channels until the seasons of things I want to see are complete . Blatant cash grab .
