The Netflix k-drama The Glory is a story of two halves. Directed by Ahn Gil-ho and written by Kim Eun-sook, the show is a revenge saga divided into two eight-episode parts. Part 1 released on December 30, 2022, and introduced us to Moon Dong-eun and her plan to ruin the lives of everyone who tormented her during her childhood. Here’s a quote from our review:
These early events are displayed in flashbacks, with the narrative shifting regularly between the past and present day. Dong-eun’s backstory is nothing special, really. She was picked on for being poor, and her lack of social and familial support made her helpless. So, too, did the socioeconomic status of her bullies, all overprivileged kids of the rich and pampered who could ensure their children never had to face any punishment for their actions. Even when Dong-eun went to the police and the school faculty, she was ignored. The kids, too, knew she would be, encouraging them to behave with absolute impunity. Not to be totally defeated, Dong-eun focused on her education and career, but the physical and emotional scars were constant reminders that any potential justice would have to be achieved on her own terms.
Thos who enjoyed Part 1 may well be wondering when Part 2 is due to arrive on Netflix, so here’s everything we know so far.
When will The Glory Part 2 be on Netflix?
At the time of writing, we don’t have an official release date for The Glory Part 2, however, reports suggest that it could arrive as early as March 2023.
This makes sense since the complete season will have been filmed all at once. The wait between a first and second season has to account for production, whereas in this case, that step has already been completed. Netflix are likely sitting on Part 2 until they have a clear window to release it, allowing it to gather some word-of-mouth viewership in the meantime.
While the above release date is obviously subject to change, I think it’s a likely bet that The Glory Part 2 will release around that time.
What will happen in The Glory Part 2?
In our The Glory Part 1 ending explained article, we laid out the particulars of how things left off, so check that out if you want more detail. In the interest of keeping this post relatively spoiler-free, though, what I’ll say is that The Glory Part 2 will inevitably detail the next stage of Dong-eun’s plan for revenge, with a particular focus on leveraging Yeon-jin‘s husband.
Part 2 will probably have a higher body count and will — hopefully! — provide a real conclusion to the story.
How many seasons of The Glory are there?
At the moment, there is only one season of the K-Drama The Glory. It’s likely that we will not get any renewal updates until Part 2 is released.
How many episodes will The Glory have?
At this moment in time, there’s no confirmation of how many episodes The Glory will currently have. Part 1 had 8 episodes, so we fully expect Part 2 to have another 8 episodes, bringing the total to 16. But how many episodes they plan after this is unknown.
Can’t wait enough for part 2!
Really interested and cant wait to see part 2. Eight episode is too short and hope to watch more than that. All casts are really in good act. I love most two main lead casts SHK and mail lead: )
Nowhere on Netflix is it mentioned this is Part 1 of a two-part series, so episode 8 was ruined by my anxiety about how they would wrap up so many subplots in the next “x number” of minutes.
Dying to watch the next episode or part 2
