We discuss whether there will be a season 2 of the Paramount+ series Tulsa King and its renewed or cancelled status.
Tulsa King entered 2022 with a talented roster of writers, directors, and producers behind the camera. That, along with an impressive cast that includes the likes of the legend Sylvester Stallone, Garret Hedlund, Andrea Savage, and scene-stealer Domenick Lombardozzi, make it one of the most buzz-worthy shows of the past year. Created by the great Taylor Sheridan and directed by The Sopranos‘ Terence Winter. Tulsa King has been the next big streaming hit on Paramount+. This is refreshing that the network has finally found a hit outside the Yellowstone franchise.
The series had a slow, almost eye-openly unassuming start. As we noted in the first episode, “Tulsa King’s premiere follows the same pilot playbook, introducing and establishing characters. However, Stallone is entertaining and promises greater things to come.” And boy, have they ever! The series has become stronger with each passing episode, and with the breakout performance from The Wire alum Lombardozzi, Tulsa King is approaching a fever pitch into its season finale.
The question remains, however, in the long run, can the character of Dwight Manfredi lead Paramount+ to Tony Soprano-like heights? The studio heads at “the peak” of entertainment sure hope so, as this brass knuckles comedy has won over fans across the globe. With Stallone receiving accolades that are some of his best since Creedwe can see Tulsa King setting up shop for years to come.
Of course, with the streaming wars at a full tilt, the battle for content is growing more heated and contentious by the day. Another season (and additional) should be a foregone conclusion, especially if the people at Paramount want to keep Sheridan happy.
Will there be a season 2 of Tulsa King – renewed or cancelled status
Yes, Paramount have confirmed that there will be a Season 2 of Tulsa King.
Rejoice, Tulsa King fans! Paramount+ has given another Taylor Sheridan series a renewal! The Sylvester Stallone vehicle has been renewed for a second season on the streaming platform. First reported by Variety on November 30th, 2022, “Tulsa King has been renewed for Season 2 at Paramount+. The renewal comes after the series debuted on the streaming service on Nov. 13. On Nov. 20, the premiere episode aired on Paramount Network following a new episode of Yellowstone. In that airing, the series drew 3.7 million viewers, making it the best new linear cable premiere of 2022.”
The early renewal was announced quickly by the President and CEO of Paramount Media Networks & MTV Entertainment Studios, Chris McCarthy. He credits “mastermind” Taylor Sheridan for the show’s success and, ultimately, the reputation the creator is building on the evergrowing streaming network. The premiere of Tulsa King, per Paramount+, was the highest streaming pilot of the year and drove the largest sign-up for the network in its short history. Yes, according to McCarthy, Sly’s new bag of a television series even outdrew HBO’s House of Dragons, which is quite an accomplishment considering that built-in fanbase.
Will Sylvester Stallone be in Tulsa King Season 2?
Yes! It’s confirmed that Stallone will return for his role in Tulsa King Season 2. Although the actor has aspirations to stop acting in the future, he will be finishing his role with the popular Paramount series.
When will Tulsa King Season 2 start filming?
This is an unknown at this point. Remember, Taylor Sheridan has a lot of spinning plates, but if they start filming early this year, then we can expect Tulsa King Season 2 at the end of 2023.
