This week’s episode gave fans a moment to breathe while also doubling down on the number of monsters at the same time. It’s clear there’s something strange going on in the dungeon, but it’s hard to focus on what that is with Bell’s (Yoshitsugu Matsuoka) and Ryuu (Saori Hayami) still roaming the lower floors. As Welf (voiced by Yoshimasa Hosoya) tries to craft more magic swords for the party’s descent into the dungeon, viewers can only hope that he’ll succeed in time to make it.
- Ryuu dreams of her time in the Astrea family, panicking as she dreams of the very mission that got her familia killed.
- As Ryuu sleeps, a Skull Sheep appears in front of Bell. He holds out his hands as a threat, and the Skull Sheep backs down.
- The Hephaistos Familia looks over the debris left behind by the Amphisbaena before traveling further into the dungeon in search of adventurers.
- Bell’s party is hit with hoards of monsters, including Kelpie, Lamias, Afancs, and Dodolas, spawning ahead of their usual floors.
- The party launches a full attack.
- Welf is knocked into a wall; he notices chunks of ore from the lower floors.
- Ouka runs forward to save Bors from Rivira. He says that every man he was with, and Bell, was murdered by a new species of monster he’s never seen before.
- After finding a room to rest in, Aisha demands Bors retell the story of Bell’s death. She asks if he saw Bell’s corpse, and he says he did not.
- Knowing he only has one use left on his magic sword before it breaks, Welf tries to think of a solution. He remembers Hephaestus telling him he could forge anywhere with the right tools and decides to set up a makeshift workshop in the dungeon to forge more swords.
- Once he begins crafting, he will not be able to move. This will require the party to protect him until he is finished. The party reluctantly agrees, forming a wall of protection around him.

Predictions
With the dungeon acting strangely, I was right in assuming that Bell’s Party would encounter a number of monsters before making it to him. While they did not come across another floor boss, the dungeon seems to be spawning monsters on earlier floors than usual. That could mean bad news for the party again this week as they find themselves stuck in a dead-end room protecting Welf.
- It is doubtful the party does not get attacked, considering they are basically sitting ducks right now. This could be where another floor boss appears early.
- With the Hephaestus Familia slowly making their way to the lower floors, they shouldn’t be too far from Bell’s Party. I could see them running into the party as they’re trying to protect Welf. It would be fitting since he was once a part of that familiar.
