Prime Video has debuted another three installments of The Legend of Vox Machina for your viewing pleasure. In these episodes, the gang continue their mission to locate all the vestiges to help take on the Chroma Conclave. “Into Rimecleft” sees the Vox Machina battling an almighty sphinx in an ancient temple. It’s another strong chapter, displaying some of the show’s best animation yet and plenty of rip-roaring action sequences. Here’s what happened in The Legend of Vox Machina Season 2 Episode 6:
- Grog has awful visions in which he kills the Vox Machina to appease his evil sword Craven Edge. He wakes the next day and talks in private with the weapon, who constantly wants feeding on fresh blood.
- Pike grows evermore suspicious of Grog’s odd behavior and tries to chat with him, but he gets distracted and runs off with Scanlan. The gang walk towards Rimecleft in the freezing cold.
- They stumble across the ancient place. Vex uses her flying broomstick to scan the area from the skies and finds a hidden entrance into the temple.
- The gang are attacked by a giant sphinx called Kamaljori. He proposes they complete a challenge to prove they are worthy and then he will gift them with their prize. Kamaljori wants them to inflict an injury upon him.
- Each Vox Machina member attempts to attack the sphinx, but fails. He then sends them into an endless void. Grog argues with Craven Edge in secret and supplies him with his own blood. Scanlan is the last individual remaining.
- Scanlan plays Kamaljori a song about his mate Osysa. This ballad causes the sphinx to cry, wounding his heart in the process. The gang return to the temple to find Scanlan and Kamaljori composing a song together.
- The sphinx presents them with a vestige, the sword Mythcarver, which will help them to find the other vestiges.
- The acid-dripping dragon Umbrasyl breaks into the cave and attacks them, desperate for the vestiges. Kamaljori and Umbrasyl battle one another, with the Vox Machina joining in for good measure. Umbrasyl swipes Scanlan and the sword. The sphinx fights back, but must sacrifice his life to save Scanlan’s.
- Keyleth begins a spell to teleport them to the Fey realm. While this spell is conjured, Grog battles the dragon alone. Pike tries to persuade Grog to join them and she is accidentally stabbed by the sword.
- Grog runs with Pike over to the spell and the whole gang are teleported before the dragon attacks. On arriving in the Fey realm, they discover that Grog, Pike and Scanlan are nowhere to be seen.
The Legend of Vox Machina Season 2 Episodes 7, 8, and 9 Release Date
The next three episodes are scheduled to release on Prime Video on Friday, February 3rd, 2023. Episode 7 is titled “The Fey Realm” and will have a run time of 26 minutes.

Predictions
- Keyleth has managed to transport most of the gang to the Fey realm, yet they are missing three of their own. They will search for their friends, whilst looking for the next vestige. Yet they do not have the Mythcarver to help guide them.
- I’m guessing Grog, Pike and Scanlan will land in another part of the Fey realm. They will struggle to bring Pike back to life. Grog and Scanlan will argue about Craven Edge’s destructive side. Grog will admit that the sword’s influence has become more than just a little problematic.
- Both separated parties will be reunited and Pike will be brought back to life. Together they will hunt down the next vestige in a rather strange new world.
