Things got intense in this week’s episode of Bungo Stray Dogs as the Armed Detective Agency found themselves in a predicament worse than any they’ve encountered before. Although Ranpo (Hiroshi Kamiya) was able to get Kunikida (voiced by Yoshimasa Hosoya) out of jail once already, it will be harder to get him, and more than half of the Agency cleared of the crimes they are about to be accused of. Right now, it seems as if The Decay of Angels is one step ahead of the Armed Detective Agency, but hopefully, that won’t be for long.
- Yukichi receives an award for the Armed Detective Agency, and even Tonan, The Vice Justice Minister, sings their praises.
- The Agency is given a new case from the government in which four victims were murdered in terrible ways. Ranpo immediately recognizes the pattern’s connection to the Decay of Angels and says this is a message from the murderer.
- Remembering Mushitaro’s warning, Ranpo insists that they turn down this case.
- Yukichi decides to take it on anyway. He says that they will investigate the murders while Ranpo instead investigates the “Agency’s coming demise”.
- Ango calls Atsushi to tell him that there is evidence that the government tampered with the itineraries of the victims. He suspects that the Decay of Angels is also a part of an alternate government body and warns Atsushi to be careful.
- Tonan approaches Atsushi, making him suspicious. Tonan seems unphased, knowing he has already sealed the after of the Armed Detective Agency.
- When Dazai is arrested by one of the Hunting Dogs, Tonan is immediately notified, knowing he is going to use Dazai’s arrest, as well as rumors about other members of the Detective Agency, to finally take them down and avenge his father.
- Tonan’s secretary shoots him, revealing himself to be Nikolai.
- Dazai questions the Hunting Dog sent to arrest him, and he reveals that the evidence against him just suddenly reappeared.
- Nikolai sends a video to the Armed Detective Agency showing them that he’s currently holding several government officials hostage, including Tonan.
- Ranpo finds Taneda, director of the Special Division for Unusual Powers, bleeding out. He tells Ranpo the Decay of Angels is an organization made up of Nikolai, Fyodor, and three more Gifted. He then says they stole from him the memory of a book page that allows anything written in it to become reality and plan to use the Armed Detective Agency in something destructive.
- The Military Police are ready to snipe the perpetrators in white hoods through the windows.
- Nikolai teleports to Tonan, releasing him and asking him to call for help. A mysterious hand is seen writing the events as they occur on a book page, likely the one stolen from Taneda’s mind.
- With the Armed Detective Agnecy right outside the door, Nikolai kills the hostages early.
- The book continues to update as The Military Police prepare themselves, ready to see just who is behind the hoods.
- Whoever is controlling the book page writes that the Armed Detective Agency members are the perpetrators, setting them up.
- Sitting in a hostage chair himself, Nikolai demands Tonan call for help as he has himself cut in half.
- Tonan calls the Military Police, telling them the Decay of Angels is actually the Armed Detective Agency.

Predictions
I don’t think I could’ve ever predicted the outcome of this week’s episode after seeing just how crazy things got. While we did see the rest of the Armed Detective Agency this week, they were quickly arrested for crimes they did not commit. Let’s see if we can figure out just how they will get themselves out of this.
- With the Military Police outside and thinking they are basically terrorists, things are not looking good for the Armed Detective Agency. I imagine their next move will be to figure out a way to hide until they can escape back to the safety of the Agency and clear their names.
- I have a feeling Nikolai is not really dead. I have a feeling he will pop up again by the end of the episode.
