We discuss predictions for the Apple TV+ series Dear Edward Season 1 Episode 5 and include the release date and where to watch online.

The grieving individuals whose family and friends died in the plane crash attempt to move forward with their lives. In “Chrysalis”, Edward (Colin O’Brien) attends high school, Dee Dee (Connie Britton) investigates her husband’s secret second life in LA, and Adriana (Anna Uzele) helps out Kojo (Idris Debrand) with Akua’s funeral. These many subplots finally find some pace, whilst there are plenty of emotive scenes to pull on your heartstrings once again. Here’s what happened in Dear Edward Season 1 Episode 4:

  • Edward attends Riverview High school with best friend Shay. He’s nervous but eager to fit in. He wears his brother’s jacket for comfort and purposely fails a test. A teacher orders him to take the jacket off and in a panic, Edward runs away.
  • Dee Dee confronts Noelle about Charles’ sexuality. It is heavily implied that he was gay. She tracks down Evan, who Charles was having an affair with, which confirms things for Dee Dee.
  • Lacey and John consider what to do with Edward’s letters. Lacey tries to bond with Edward, but he can’t look at her, she reminds him of his mother too much.
  • Adriana helps Kojo organize a funeral for Akua. Becks designs beautiful butterfly decorations for her mother’s casket. Adriana asks Reverend Eric for help with the funeral. They share a passionate kiss. Adriana is caught up in a love triangle of sorts with Eric and Kojo.
  • At the support group, Amanda argues with Steve. Amanda’s partner Brent died in the crash and his brother Steve wants to grieve too. She is angry with Steve though because he abandoned Brent, who was an addict. They are at odds with one another. Amanda wants him to stop attending the sessions.
  • Shay tells Lacey about Edward’s tricky first day in class. Lacey tries to talk to Edward but doesn’t know what to say. She decides to recount a childhood memory, stating how amazing her sister (Edward’s mother) truly was. This seems to do the trick.
  • Dee Dee visits a teenager, who Charles had helped out. She gifts them Charles’ Rolex watch.
  • At Akua’s funeral, Adriana comforts Becks, who looks bewildered by the event. Later they dance at a party. Eric stares at Kojo as he dances with Adriana.
  • Amanda and Steve agree to continue attending group therapy together.
  • Edward offers Shay his brother’s jacket. He sleeps on her bedroom floor again, worried that he doesn’t know who he is anymore.
