Will there be a Season 2 of In Love All Over Again?

This article discusses the potential of In Love All Over Again Season 2 and the renewed or canceled status of the Spanish Netflix original series. It may contain spoilers for the first season.

Created by Carlos Montero, In Love All Over Again is not your typical Valentine’s Day romance. For one thing, the Spanish Netflix original series offers a love story that spans two decades and is defined primarily by the inability of its leads to actually stay together. It also strongly weaves the personal and the professional together, making it difficult to parse what’s genuine affection and what’s an opportunity for personal advancement. All these things taken together make for a show that is slightly atypical and is mostly quite interesting, building to an ambiguous climax that fans will no doubt be invested in.

Here’s a quote from our review:

The show’s creator, Carlos Montero, also uses quite surprising events to force Irene and Julio apart, such as the 2004 Madrid terrorist bombings, which aren’t overplayed and are genuinely shocking when they’re deployed. I also think the chemistry between the leads is very believable; you can see how their passion overtakes them here and there, helping to justify what are obviously terrible decisions (but don’t all young people make plenty of those?). There are still moments when certain things feel like a bit of a stretch, but that’s almost inevitable over a long-ish series covering such a wide span of time. For the most part, though, I found the flow of this relationship to be quite believable and engaging.

Because of the unclear climax, fans may be wondering about the show’s potential future, so here’s everything we know:

Will there be a Season 2 of In Love All Over Again?

Renewed or canceled status: TBC

At the time of writing Netflix haven’t given official word about their plans for the show’s future. This is entirely ordinary since the streaming giant needs to accumulate a lot of data in order to make that decision. There are both internal and external factors to consider, including how many people watch the series, how many of those complete it, and how well the show is received critically.

Since In Love All Over Again isn’t adapting source material and isn’t part of a well-known IP, it’s something of an unknown, so taking things as they come and relying on good word-of-mouth will be integral to its success. A Valentine’s Day release is always a good thing for a romantic story, but ideally, the series will need to pick up longer-term traction in order to be a viable prospect for renewal. The ambiguous ending may help with that, but then again it might not, and the potential audience may lose interest with so many similar shows to sink their teeth into instead.

There’s plenty of reason to hope, but for now, our official prediction is that In Love All Over Again will not be renewed for a second season. However, we’ll be sure to keep this article updated whenever we learn more.
