I was worried that 1923 would drown in the nauseating romance between Spencer (Brandon Sklenar) and Alexandra (Julia Schlaepfer). We only see the couple briefly at the end of Episode 7. Thankfully, a little break was needed. Why? Because of Sheridan’s exciting script leads up to the series’ most engaging storyline — Teonna (Aminah Nieves) and her escape from the Indian school. Taylor Sheridan brings 1923 to a brutal boiling point in this episode, With Aminah Nieves continuing to give the show’s most robust performance.
Here’s what happened in 1923 Season 1 Episode 7:
- Banner is arrested by the sheriff (Robert Patrick), Jacob (Harrison Ford), Jack (Darren Mann), and other members of the livestock commission. Why was Banner arrested? Because he and his other shepherds murdered John Dutton Sr (James Badge Dale) and Bob Strafford (Tim DeKay).
- Donald Whitfield (Timothy Dalton) has begun to mine in the area when he is told Banner has been arrested for murder. He notifies his lawyer, Chadwick Benton (Currie Graham). The brash lawyer assures his boss that Banner will be released in the morning.
- Don’t worry about Jack and Elizabeth; their romance can be just as revolting.
- Teonna’s father discovers his mother has been murdered. (If you remember the last episode, she was murdered by federal authorities searching for her). Hank’s son shows up and tells him she is staying with him.
- Teonna’s father saves Hank’s son, who was taken prisoner by a vengeful priest who thinks God is willing to do so.
- A priest shoots Hank in the back while carrying Teonna to safety. Teonna saves herself by smashing him in the head with a rock.
- Alexandra and Spencer are dropped off in Sicily. When the episode ends, they run into her ex-fiance, Arthur.

Predictions
- Even though IMDB states 1923 has nine episodes on the main page, when you look, there are only eight listed. Next week’s episode looks like this will be the season finale. We will keep you updated.
- Will Alexandra leave with Spencer? I felt Alexandra wouldn’t make it to the end of the series. (Though, I thought she would end up dieing in some tragic accident). Now, has the bubble burst? Will she go back to Arthur? Remember, she is married, and that meant back 100 years ago. Alexandra will leave with her current fiance.
- Why does IMDB list Alexandar’s fiance as “young Arthur?” Is an older version of this character coming up in a future series? (Like the rumored Yellowstone spinoff 1944 potentially starring Matthew Machaney). I’ll say it’s an internet typo for now, but worth watching.
- With Banner appearing to escape execution, will Whitfield attack the Dutton clan? I predict this will come to a head next episode.
- Harrison Ford announced a season 2, but does that mean he will be a part of it? I predict Jacob Dutton may be killed off at the end of the season.
- Will Teonna make it to the end of the season? Yes, because her last name is associated with the Yellowstone character Thomas Rainwater.
Arthur is the Father, Earl of Sussex, and young Arthur is her fiancé. His Mother is the Countess of Sussex.
“Hank’s son shows up and tells him she is staying with him.” Is incorrect. Pete Plenty Clouds shows up and tells Runs His Horse that Teonna is staying with his Father, Hank.
I think that Jacob and his new wife and unborn child die in the season finale
The least interesting part of 1923 is the indian part, the best part concerns Spencer and Alexandra. The addition of the Indian part is partly due to the woke and equity environment of the present.
I stream Paramount +. Paramount + stopped streaming 1923 after episode 6. So why do you keep telling us that episode 7 and 8 are on Paramount +?
