As the title suggests, episode seven focuses on “Drones” as the Aryan Brotherhood steps up their drug dealing on the inside with this nifty piece of tech. Bunny (Tobi Bamtefa) and Mike (Jeremy Renner) continue their mind games after Bunny orchestrated the District Attorney’s slaying. Mike continues to try and get Bunny released while the Crips leader is moved into an upgraded prison cell. It’s another dawdling installment that seems to be stringing along certain subplots, creeping them forward at a frustratingly slow pace. Here’s what happened in Mayor of Kingstown Season 2 Episode 7:
- Drones deliver drugs into the prison. The Aryan Brotherhood distributes these drugs on the inside, with the guards ignoring this criminal activity.
- Mike argues with Bunny about the death of the District Attorney. Bunny defends himself, stating that Mike was working too slowly; he has now cleared the path for him. Bunny wants out, but Mike thinks this death will actually hinder his release.
- Mike splits up a possible gang fight in the Crips’ territory.
- Kyle is ordered to get his story straight concerning the riots. Kyle defends Robert, but the Captain admits that they are just looking for a scapegoat to pin it all on.
- Bunny and Raphael are upgraded to a larger cell with a kitchen and sofa, all thanks to Mike.
- Mike asks Evelyn to sign Bunny’s release. She is angry that the DA is dead, saying that Mike is to blame.
- Robert tells the others that he has found the rat, the person who is blaming him for unprofessional behavior during the riots. Robert says the man is called Ben. Mike says he will go and speak with him.
- Kyle is drunk most of the time now and argues with his wife.
- Ian meets with a prisoner called Charlie. He is working with this killer to find dead bodies.
- Mike spots a drone operator outside the prison walls. He attacks this man and then speaks with Aryan Brotherhood leader Gunner. He tells him to stop sending in drones and to honor their agreement.
- Kyle is drunk in a club, he spots Iris. He phones his brother, stating that he has found her.

Season 2 Episode 8 will be released on Paramount+ on Sunday, March 5th, 2023. The release time is 3 am ET/midnight PT. The title of episode 8 is still to be confirmed, as is the running time.

Predictions
- Mike will speak with Ben, but he will be unable to change his mind. He may use force as he always does to get his results, yet this may not work this time around.
- Kyle is interrogated about the riots; he will be tricked into saying something he shouldn’t. Kyle will defend Robert, and he might end up arguing with those questioning him.
- The other gang leaders will find out about Bunny’s upgraded cell. They will hound Mike for similar upgrades. Jealous, they will come after Bunny. The peace on both the inside and the outside is slowly starting to fall apart once again. This will end in more deaths.
