Tony Basgallop’s Apple Original series is rapidly approaching its end, and yet somehow, most of the show’s biggest mysteries remain unsolved. In Servant Season 4 Episode 8, Sean (Toby Kebbell) and Julian (Rupert Grint) help the cult lure Leanne (Nell Tiger Free) into the mysterious tunnel systems below the house as a biblical storm rains down on Philadelphia.
It’s an eventful, action-packed installment focusing on Leanne’s endless battle with the Church of the Lesser Saints. One that seems to be setting the stage for an explosive finale. Here’s what happened:
- A category two storm is heading towards Philadelphia, with power cuts, flash floods, and a lunar eclipse to deal with. The Turner household prepares for this storm.
- Julian researches his speech loss online and worries about the coming storm.
- Leanne orders her followers to leave the park and move away from the storm; she will look after herself.
- Sean and Julian make a plan in the basement. Uncle George wants Leanne bringing there. Sean suggests Julian lures her down to the basement, and he agrees to help.
- Dorothy and Leanne talk in Jericho’s room. Dorothy sees herself in Leanne, adding that they are both tenacious. She asks why Leanne chose her. Leanne says that she wants to be liked by the Turner family.
- In the attic, Leanne screams towards the skies. Lightning strikes nearby. Julian finds her manically laughing at the storm and asks her to join him downstairs. She refuses, forcing them to drag her to the basement instead.
- Uncle George asks Leanne to kill herself and sacrifice to save the world. Leanne takes the burning hot dagger but stabs George in the throat with it instead. She then kills the other cult members and sets George’s body on fire.
- Sean and Julian hear Leanne approaching. Sean grabs a cheese knife, and they head toward the living room. The storm shatters the window beside Sean, and he accidentally stabs himself in the chest. Julian is then pushed down the stairs into the basement by Leanne.
- Leanne takes out the knife and calls 911, reporting two incidents and requesting two ambulances.
- She tells Sean that he will never be allowed back inside this house. Sean and Julian are taken out on stretchers. Leanne then tells Dorothy that it is just the two remainings.
