Buddy Daddies chose to tug at viewers’ heartstrings this week, delivering one of the most emotional episodes of the season thus far. After a surprise change of heart, Miri’s mother unexpectedly visited, throwing a wrench into her new life with Kazuki (voiced by Toshiyuki Toyonaga) and Rei (voiced by Koki Uchiyama). While no one wants to see Miri (voiced by Hina Kino) go, at the same time, no one can deny it might be safer for her somewhere else. Tough decisions were made, to say the least, but with three more episodes left this season; there’s still plenty of time for things to change.
- Miri’s class learns the song Silent Night for the upcoming Christmas Party.
- Kazuki and Rei try to figure out what to get her for Christmas.
- Miri’s mother, Unasaka Misaki, waits for Kazuki and Rei outside the daycare. She tells them that she has come to take Miri back.
- Kazuki and Rei allow Misaki and Miri to spend the day together at home.
- When Miri falls asleep, Kazuki and Rei confront Misaki, who explains she was fired from her job and can no longer sing because she is sick.
- Misaki asks for another chance with Miri.
- Misaki uses Kazuki and Rei’s job against them, saying she knows what they do and how dangerous it is.
- Kazuki and Rei later vent to Kyutaro, who admits that he told Misaki they were assassins to save Kazuki and Rei from the organization. He says if they didn’t get rid of her soon, the punishment would only get worse.
- Kazuki, Rei, and Miri spend one last day together shopping, eating out, playing games, and riding rides.
- Kazuki and Rei take Miri to see Misaki for what Kazuki calls a “sleepover.”

Predictions
While I was right in assuming that Kyutaro would tell Kazuki and Rei about what was happening, I could have never predicted that things would end like this. Whether or not Miri comes home next week is still very much up in the air, but something tells me it may be a while before she does.
- I have a feeling that Miri will not be coming back to Kazuki and Rei after her sleepover. While she doesn’t realize it yet, I think she’ll be upset when she begins to understand what’s really happening.
- Miri asks Kazuki and Rei to attend her Christmas Party, which gives me the feeling that they’ll somehow miss it. I don’t think she’ll choose not to go, but that work will somehow get in the way.
I love you
