Canute (voiced by Kensho Ono) continued to show viewers how much he has changed this week as he tried to figure out the best way to fund his army. Although Ketil (voiced by Hideaki Tezuka) tries his best to please Canute, he has no idea what lies just around the corner for him and his farm. With Canute planning to seize it for himself, who knows what that will mean for Thorfinn (Yuto Uemura), Einar (Shunsuke Takeuchi), and everyone else working on the farm? While this could be a good move for Canute, it is likely the type of power play that will have many unforeseen consequences.
- Lady Estrid watches Canute practice his sword fighting with Wulf and thinks back to when Canute could barely stomach touching a sword.
- Wulf begins to push harder as Canute falls back while Canute comments that the only reason Wulf began to attack him with more force is that Estrid is watching.
- Canute distracts Wulf and pulls his sword on him, forcing him to forfeit.
- Canute faces a new issue: securing funds from within Denmark to maintain his army.
- Canute decides to take drastic measures, such as requisitioning land for the crown, instead of dismantling any armies he has.
- Ketil is too late to see Harald but asks Thorgil to put him in touch with Canute instead.
- Ketil notices that Olmar is missing and finds him in a fight in town. When Ketil attempts to diffuse the situation with money, another man steps forward, revealing his name as Lief Ericson.
- After settling their misunderstanding, Ketil and Olmar sit down to eat together. Then, Leif’s adopted son introduces himself as “Thorfinn.”
- Ketil is suddenly reminded of Thorfinn back on his farm.
- Leif begins to suspect that Ketil’s Thorfinn is the one he has been looking for.
- Ketil, Thorgil, and Olmar meet with Canute, who happily accepts Ketil’s gifts.
- Olmar stands up and asks Canute for a place in his army. Canute lets him demonstrate his skills on the pig they plan to serve for dinner.
- Despite thoroughly embarrassing himself, Canute still tells Olmar he will consider the status of his enrollment.
- Although Wulf does not want to train Olmar, he and Canute both agree that he would be straightforward to use because he is so foolish and impressionable.
- Canute then decides that Ketil’s farm will be requisition number one.

Predictions
While I was not right in my predictions last week, it seems each week; viewers get closer and closer to seeing Thorfinn reunite with his old companions and mentors. Although every reunion may not exactly be welcomed or pleasant, it will be entertaining to watch play out.
- I have a feeling that Canute taking over Ketil’s farm will somehow ruin Thorfinn and Einar getting their freedom. I think they’ll have to continue working as slaves for Canute.
- Lief seems determined to get to Thorfinn at Ketil’s farm. I could see him making it there and trying to buy Thorfinn’s freedom, but Thorfinn not wanting to leave Einar behind.
