It’s back! And while the wait hasn’t quite seemed so long since The Book of Boba Fett essentially morphed into The Mandalorian Season 2.5 without warning, it’s still nice to see Mando and Grogu back on our screens. With a redemption arc, reams of fan service to play with, and more appetite than ever for small-screen Star Wars after recent successes, the latest season of The Mandalorian has all the potential of a being another mega-hit for the House of Mouse.
Here’s what happened in The Mandalorian Season 3, Episode 4:
- During a Mandalorian training session, a giant winged creature — described elsewhere as a “raptor” — swooped down and snatched up one of the Tribe’s Foundlings, Ragnar, son of Paz Vizsla.
- Mando, Paz Vizsla and Bo-Katan led a hunting party to the raptor’s lair, where they were able rescue Ragnar from the raptor. They also took the raptor’s babies back to the covert to be raised as new Foundlings.
- Elsewhere, Grogu watching the Armorer work prompted a flashback to Order 66, where we see he was taken away from Coruscant by a Jedi named Kelleran Beq.
- At the end of the episode the Armorer replaced one of Bo-Katan’s spaulders with a fresh one depicting the iconic Mythosaur skull.

The latest episode is scheduled to be released on Wednesday, March 29 at 12 am PT, 3 am ET, and 8 am GMT, exclusively on Disney+.

Consistent with previous seasons, the third season of The Mandalorian will have eight episodes. The premiere debuted on March 1, 2023, and subsequent episodes will continue on a weekly cadence. Here’s the full schedule:

Predictions
While there is (predictably) no official synopsis, we can nonetheless make some logical assumptions about where things may go in the future:
- Now we’ve been introduced to Kelleran Beq, I imagine Grogu’s post-Order 66 origin story will run parallel with the present-day storyline.
- Are we going to see a kind of heel turn from Bo-Katan? I think we’re heading in that direction. The sighting of the Mythosaur has obviously stirred something in her.
- I expect that soon we’ll begin to link up with the plot on Coruscant introduced in Episode 3.
