Prime Video hopes to have a new mega-hit in its arsenal with the Russo brothers produced Citadel, a sci-fi spy thriller from David Weil (Hunters). The series debuted with two installments, introducing the key players in this espionage series and the two warring spy operations.
In the second chapter, Mason (Richard Madden) retrieves the Citadel’s case and heads to Valencia to gain the help of ex-agent Nadia (Priyanka Chopra Jonas), who has also had her memory wiped clean. It’s another exciting installment, including bloody violence and impressive fight sequences.
Here’s what happened in Citadel Season 1 Episode 2:
- We explore Nadia’s past. She was kidnapped after the train explosion. The agent managed to escape her captor, but her memory was soon wiped. In the frantic seconds before she lost her memories, Nadia wrote herself a message to head to Valencia.
- In the present, Mason says goodbye to his family and travels to New York with Bernard. They are after the Citadel X-case before the Silje brothers unlock it and take the nuclear codes from within.
- Mason infiltrates Manticore’s building and fights the bad guys to retrieve this case, but the brothers clock Mason before he leaves.
- There is now a bounty out on Mason and his family. He cannot stop fighting until Manticore is taken down.
- Bernard instructs Mason on how to open the case. Inside are details of the other agents and vials containing their memories.
- Bernard is shot by the Silje brothers, and he crashes his getaway car. Mason flees, taking the case with him. Although his vial has been damaged, and all his memories are forever lost.
- Mason decides to fly to Valencia to track down his fellow agent Nadia, with no one else to turn to.
- In Valencia, Mason meets Nadia. He explains the Citadel and her amnesia, but she takes some convincing. He shows her the case and her true identity. Nadia injects herself with the vial to retrieve her memories. This helps her battle one of the Silje brothers, who attacks them both.
- Dahlia is informed that the Citadel agents Nadia and Mason are alive and well. Dahlia now has Bernard, hostage. She hopes to use him to gain the Citadel’s many secrets.

- Dahlia has kidnapped Bernard; she will torture him until he reveals the Citadel’s darkest secrets. It would appear that Dahlia is working for Manticore, the Citadel’s enemy. They desperately want vital information on their rivals and those pesky nuclear codes.
- Mason and Nadia have been reacquainted, but Mason still has no memory of their shared past. Nadia will have to retrain Mason so that they can defeat Manticore together.
- Back in Wyoming, Bernard’s allies and Mason’s family will worry when they stop hearing from their loved ones. Will they be forced to join the attack, or will they stay hidden indefinitely?
