The first two installments of the Apple Original series Silo have been released for your viewing pleasure. In this apocalyptic future, the last remaining survivors of the human race live within a gigantic silo deep underground
A few citizens seeking answers have journeyed into the outside world, but they appear to collapse and die only minutes after venturing into the unknown.
“Holston’s Pick” explores the many mysteries of this sci-fi society, adding further intrigue to the plot. Here’s what happened Silo Season 1 Episode 2:
- Holston journeys outside to reunite with his wife. He sees a beautiful landscape before him, but the citizens in the Silo only see a wasteland. Holston stumbles and removes his helmet. He then collapses and seemingly dies next to his wife.
- The sheriff’s death causes uproar in the Silo. A fight breaks out, and Juliette storms off, enraged by what she’s seen.
- The citizens gather weapons, and a riot or uprising looks to be on the cards.
- The Mayor asks Deputy Marnes to take over from Holston, but he decides to retire instead.
- Juliette meets with an old friend called Martha. She tells her friend about her lover George’s suspicious death.
- The day George died, he left Juliette a note and an old relic. After his death, Juliette convinced Deputy Hank that it was murder. Holston was called to investigate.
- Juliette showed Holston the note and the relic. She then took him to her secret hideout. Here, Juliette found the hard drive and George’s notes. Holston recognized his wife’s handwriting on the notes.
- Holston said that he would investigate the hard drive, but the next time Juliette saw him, he was heading outside the Silo. Juliette felt betrayed.
- Marnes hands the Mayor a list of potential candidates to replace Holston as sheriff. He then shows her a note from Holston. The old sheriff wanted Juliette to be his successor.
- The Mayor plans to meet with Juliette.
- Juliette remembers George telling her about a hidden door under the water. She decides to search for this secret door herself.
Silo Season 1 Episode 3 Release Date and Time
Episode 3 will be released on Apple TV+ on Friday, May 12th, 2023, at midnight PT. Episode 3 is titled “Machines” and will have a run time of 63 minutes.

Predictions
- Juliette will follow the rope down under the water. She will find the secret door but cannot open it on her own. Juliette will ask her fellow engineers to help her with this quest.
- The Mayor will speak with Juliette, discussing Holston’s proposal. I would be surprised if the Mayor was to hire Juliette, as she has no previous experience and is a lower-class citizen.
- Paul Billings will be hired as the new sheriff.
- Hopefully, this episode will explore the character of Sims, played by Common. He looks to be some crime boss on the lower levels.
