The penultimate episode of The Power Season 1 sets the stage for an explosive finale, as the many subplots all head towards war and conflict. Roxy (Ria Zmitrowicz) may have found out the truth about her mother’s death, Allie (Halle Bush) is building her own army of fighters, and Tatiana (Zrinka Cvitesic) has finally overthrown Viktor (Alexandru Bindea).
It’s a packed, eventful installment, although some of the subplots seem to revert to far-fetched shortcuts to reach their end goals. Here’s what happened in The Power Season 1 Episode 8:
- Videos of Allie’s miracles are broadcast across the globe. Roxy sees these clips and questions their authenticity.
- Margot films with her family for her campaign video. Rob is worried that the family is still traumatized after that man committed suicide by setting himself on fire right before them. Jos thinks Matty has become radicalized.
- Tunde asks to join Declan, who is interviewing Tatiana and Viktor at the Palace. He informs Declan that Zoia and Tatiana are sisters.
- Tunde and Declan are frisked. The guards search through Tunde’s belongings.
- At Roxy’s 18th birthday, Bernie gifts her with a third of his company. Ricky grows tired of Roxy’s new popularity. He threatens her and later tells her that he thinks Bernie was involved in her mother’s death.
- Tunde tells Tatiana about Zoia. He is then interrogated by the guards. Declan sells Tunde out to save his own back.
- Rob plans a camping trip for the family. Matty uploads the video of Ryan using his powers. Jos finds out and tries to attack her brother. Margot blocks the shot, revealing her powers.
- Roxy contacts Allie, asking her about her powers.
- Rob is upset that Margot lied to him. He asks for a divorce.
- Allie’s real identity is revealed on live TV. Sister Veronica phones the hotline to rat her out. Allie stops her, using her powers to manipulate Veronica’s brain. This puts Veronica into a trance-like state, and later she begins to bleed from her eyes.
- Tatiana murders Viktor and frames her stylist, who she then also kills.
The Power Season 1 Episode 9 Release Date and Time
Episode 9 will be released on Prime Video on Friday, May 12th, 2023, at midnight ET. Episode 9 is titled “The Shape of Power” and will have a run time of 55 minutes.

Predictions
- Tatiana has managed to get away with murder. She finally snapped and killed Viktor, but her stylist Solongo will, take the fall. Tatiana will now become the nation’s new leader. She will make contact with Zoia. Will they work together or become enemies again?
- Naïve journalist Tunde will be thrown in prison for his actions. Tatiana will order his release, though. She may ask him for help tracking down Zoia.
- Roxy will confront Bernie about the murder, and then she will move to America to seek out Allie and her church.
- Allie will kill Sister Veronica to spare her the pain. Her followers will be confused by Allie’s actions, but they are far too involved now to change their minds. They may even fear their leader moving forwards.
- Margot’s family is in total disarray. The Mayor will grow even more distant from them as the campaign trail gets ugly. Matty will leave the family home and join Urbandox’s growing army.
