While no one doubted that Thorfinn (Yuto Uemura), Einar (Shunsuke Takeuchi), and Arnheid (Mayumi Sako) would be punished to some extent, no one could’ve predicted how harshly Ketil (Hideaki Tezuka) would react.
After beating Arnheid nearly to death, it’s become clear Ketil is no longer thinking rationally. That is especially obvious now that he’s declared plans to fight all thieves, even Canute (voiced by Kensho Ono).
After all this time, Leif (Yoji Ueda) finally arrives to retrieve Thorfinn, but fans can only wonder if he will even get to leave with him.
- Canute and his men are days away from arriving at Ketil’s farm.
- Canute hopes that Ketil will submit to him without a fight but is not above taking his resources by force if necessary.
- Although Canute’s ships are close, Leif and Ketil’s group arrives at the farm earlier.
- When Leif arrives to buy Thorfinn, Pater asks if he will also consider purchasing Einar and Arnheid.
- Ketil punishes Arnheid for trying to escape him by beating her with a wooden stick.
- Arnheid attempts to beg for mercy by explaining she is carrying his child, but Ketil says he can no longer trust her and continues to beat her anyway.
- Snake comes to Arnheid’s rescue when he sees that Ketil is on the verge of beating her to death.
- Leif also attempts to buy both Einar and Arnheid from Ketil, but Ketil refuses to sell Arnheid to him. However, he says Leif can do whatever with Einar.
- After patching her up, Pater says it is unclear whether or not Arnheid will recover from her injuries.
- Ketil travels across the farm to retrieve his sword, saying he will punish all the thieves working against him, even the king.
Vinland Saga Season 2 Episode 19 Release Date and Time
Episode 19 will be released on both Netflix and Crunchyroll on Monday, May 15th, 2023. The release time is 11:30 a.m E.T. Episode 19 is titled “War at Ketil’s Farm” and will have a run time of approximately 23 minutes.

Predictions
While it seemed obvious to both me and the other farmhands that Ketil would spare Arnheid, in the end, he surprised everyone by being the hardest on her. With Arnheid’s betrayal hitting him this hard, Ketil seems far from his right mind, which could lead to some decisions he’ll surely regret.
- Things were not looking good for Arnheid at the end of this week’s episode. At the very least, I could see her losing her baby as a result of Ketil’s beating if not her life entirely.
- Considering how close Canute’s ships were and the fact that Ketil seemed ready for war, I see him engaging Canute in battle. Since the title of next week’s episode includes war, I can only imagine that one will break out.
