We had the three-episode premiere of High Desert, where we were introduced to Peggy (Patricia Arquette), a down-on-her-luck woman trying to get her life together years after her husband was thrown in jail for selling drugs. Here is everything that happened in Season 1, Episodes 1-3.
- Peggy and her husband, Denny, are throwing a party, and as everyone is having a good time, the FBI comes in and raids the house. It leads to Denny being thrown in jail, and we fast forward to Penny ten years later.
- She currently lives in this mid-century style of town where she plays a bartender during a show. Her sister Dianne and her husband visit her, where Dianne mentions them selling their mother’s house since Peggy can’t afford the bills. However, this sets Peggy off.
- Carol is Peggy’s best friend; they meet at a bar to talk about the stress of their days. While there, Peggy sees an ad for a PI, Bruce, who ripped off her friend. She thinks she could become a PI and reset her life.
- She arrives at Bruce’s place and scares him straight, basically. Her intimidation tactics sway Bruce into many things, including giving her a job and working on trying to track down cases.
- Guru Bob ripped off Tammy leading to Peggy getting involved. Someone stole money from the town safe, and Peggy realized it was Tammy because she was paying for a boob job per Guru Bob.
- Peggy goes after Guru Bob, who seems to be having problems of his own when at a party, two henchmen are roughing him up. Because of this, one of them takes off Bob’s nipple causing him to go to the hospital.
- After all, this goes down; the hospital calls Peggy to come to get Guru Bob. Then, when she does, she threatens him, saying she wants Tammy’s money. Guru Bob says he wants her to use her connections to fence the painting he has.
- Peggy has her hands full between helping Guru Bob, fending off her sister in selling her mom’s house, and working with Carol to possibly find Guru Bob’s missing wife. Sadly, she is struggling to deal with her stuff, and it’s catching up.
- Guru Bob and Peggy agree with her selling the painting. Peggy gets 20% and four grand up front for what he owes Tammy.
- Finally, as things are looking up, Peggy’s ex-husband, who was in jail, arrives at her house and says he is out on early release.
High Desert Season 1 Episode 4 Release Date and Time
Episode 4 will be released on Apple TV+ on May 24th, 2023, at 3 am EST. Episode 4 is titled “Get Judy off the Bed” and will have a run time of 35 minutes.
