This week, things took a serious turn as war ravaged Ketil’s (Hideaki Tezuka) farm. With the battle lost and most of his men either dead or fleeing, Ketil’s future is not looking good.
It may have been easier to let Einar (Shunsuke Takeuchi) just kill him, but with Ketil alive, he will soon have to answer for the lives of everyone lost in the war, Arnheid (Mayumi Sako) included.
With Thorfinn (Yuto Uemura) on his way to talk to Canute (voiced by Kensho Ono), there’s a chance he could try to negotiate on the farmer’s behalf, but that seems unlikely, as Thorfinn and Canute’s (Kensho Ono) have plenty of history to hash out of their own.
- As Ketil and Canute’s men battle it out, Fox finds himself growing more terrified.
- Snake instructs Fox to flee with Badger while he calls for his army to retreat.
- When it appears that one of Canute’s men has beheaded Ketil, Wulf goes to check for confirmation.
- Snake finds Ketil barely alive on the battlefield.
- Thorgil ambushes Canute, but Canute is able to save himself in time to be rescued by Wulf.
- After being injured by Wulf, Thorgil manages to escape back to the sea to swim away.
- Even after attempting to kill him, Canute declares that he would like Thorgil to come to work for him again.
- Canute wins the war against Ketil.
- Arnheid dies from her injuries despite Thorfinn’s attempt to use CPR to save her life.
- Einar tries to kill him as revenge for Arnheid, but Thorfinn stops him by begging him not to follow the same path he did.
- After burying Arnheid, Thorfinn decides he is going to speak to Canute.
- Leif begs Thorfinn to return to Iceland, but Thorfinn promises to return alive.
Vinland Saga Season 2 Episode 21 Release Date and Time
Episode 21 will be released on both Netflix and Crunchyroll on Monday, May 29th, 2023. The release time is 11:30 a.m E.T. Episode 21 is titled “Courage” and will have a run time of approximately 23 minutes.

Predictions
Although I was right in my predictions last week, I almost wish I wasn’t as we watched Arnheid die in front of Einar and Thorfinn. Now with Arnheid gone and Ketil having lost the war, things around the farm are tense and unpredictable. Still, let’s see if we can guess what will happen.
- Although Thorfinn and Canute have a past, I find it hard to believe that his men will just let Thorfinn speak to him. If anything, I could see Thorfinn attempting to speak with Canute next episode, only to be turned away because he is a slave.
- There’s no way that we make it through next week without dealing with the fallout and aftermath of the war. With so many men left dead, I have a hard time believing Ketil will be able to keep any peace or order on his farm. However, given the state Ketil’s in and what we know about his mindset when things get tough, Ketil may not even care about what happens there anymore.
