In the penultimate episode of Drops of God, Issei (Tomohisa Yamashita) and Camille (Fleur Geffrier) battle for Alexandre’s (Stanley Weber) inheritance in a grueling three-part final test. This enthralling battle encapsulates all areas of wine, testing the competitors to their limits.
It’s an exciting installment, introducing the villain of the piece in Luca Inglese (Diego Ribon). Luca is also part of the jury for the final round, which spices up proceedings somewhat. Here’s what happened in Drops of God Season 1, Episode 7:
- Issei tastes the Italian wine but can’t find a connection. His mother barges in, asking Issei to apologize to his grandfather. When he refuses, Honoka orders Issei to leave the apartment.

- Lorenzo and Miyabi meet with Camille, hoping to ease her pain. She’s been disowned by Luca in outrageous fashion. Lorenzo admits that Luca needs Camille to run the Leger Guide. He has a 45% stake in the business and profits greatly from cheating with the guide.
- Issei and Camille are sent to Paris on a private jet. Issei tries to apologize to Camille, but she won’t listen.
- They are taken to their final test at the hotel, filmed before a live audience. Luca is on the jury. He starts the event by discussing Alexandre’s plans to find a successor. The winner will run the Leger Guide.
- Issei wins the first round, trouncing Camille at wine general knowledge. The second round, the competitors must match their choice of wine to a specific three-course meal. Luca is biased and clearly coerces the other judges.
- The third round takes them to Chassangre’s vineyard for the final test. They must identify a wine and reproduce it using the winery and estate. Issei walks the fields, looking for answers, while Camille is in the wine cellar.
- That night, the two competitors talk about the previous test. Issei found the correct Italian wine by luck. Camille says that she sees the aromas before her. Issei calls it a superpower.
- Issei tries to envision the aromas and discovers that he can do it too.

- In the season finale, the winner of the competition will be announced. As it stands, Issei is easily in the lead. He only lost on one question during the first round, and Luca will make sure that he wins the second round unanimously. Issei must be far off in the lead by now.
- That means it will all come down to the final round. Can Camille win back the points she needs, or will Issei widen the gap even further?
- I think that it will be very close, but Issei will win overall. He will offer to halve the inheritance with Camille. Issei and Camille will run the Leger Guide together.
- Issei will also reveal to Camille that they are half-siblings, helping further improve their relationship.
