The cops have raided The Kindred household in The Clearing. Matriah is on the run while the cops are trying to place the kids in new homes. Freya is struggling in the present day with things falling apart around her. Here is everything that went down in The Clearing Season 1 Episode 4.
- The doctors and cops are doing a once-over on the kids’ bodies. Social services explain that they are attempting to place the kids with their biological parents.
- Joe and Colin question Amy about what she knows about the disappearance of Sara. However, Anton is looking on, and she is hesitant to speak. When social services come in to talk to Anton and Amy, they tell them that Matriah has refused her rights to them, meaning they will go to the state.
- The investigation continues with Joe and Colin sitting down with Dr. Lathan, Hannah, and Henrik to find out what they know about Matriah’s whereabouts, Sara, and the kids. They ultimately get nowhere with the conversations.
- After many conversations, Henrik heads in to confess to Joe and Colin about the kidnapping of Sara. Joe questions whose decision it was and tries to implicate Matriah in the abduction, but Henrik says it was his doing and his doing alone.
- In the present day, Freya heads to visit Henrik in jail. The conversation heats up between the two when she asks him the truth about Sara. Henrik tells her that she doesn’t want to know the truth.
- After seeing a father and son playing together, Freya tells Billy that Wayne is his father, and she lets them hang out at a soccer field together.
- Anton is back in town, causing Freya to question why he is back. After seeing Matriah’s nurse fold up a jacket, Freya realizes she recognizes it. She watched the video back from the store of where the kid was kidnapped, and that was the same jacket, and she thinks Anton kidnapped the missing girl.
- Freya calls Joe to investigate, but he tells her the missing girl has been found alive in the woods.
- Dr. Lathan is sitting down with parents and kids, talking about The Kindred, and we see Anton walking in to sit down, and he has Billy with him.
- The episode ends with Freya finding a hidden place in the basement of the old Kindred household.
