Since it first premiered in 2019, Demon Slayer has been a phenomenon in the anime community. With major success after success, including multiple movies and seasons, Demon Slayer has quickly solidified itself as one of the best shounen series amongst anime fans, both young and old.
Season three of the popular series adapted the Swordsmith Village Arc. In it, Tanjiro sets out to once again repair his broken sword. Of course, just because he’s waiting for it to be fixed does not mean that his enemies will also give him the courtesy of waiting.
It’s an arc many viewers have been waiting for as it expands on the backstories of several beloved characters, including multiple Hashira we had only met briefly before.
It also introduces some of Tanjiro’s most fearsome foes yet, including two upper-rank demons with powers, unlike any demon we’d seen Tanjiro battle previously.
Much like the first two seasons of Demon Slayer, season three has been very well received by fans.
With an 8.57 rating on My Anime List, it is currently the second highest-rated anime of the Spring 2023 season at the time of this article.
Will there be a Season 4 of the anime series Demon Slayer – renewed or canceled status
As of the timing of this article, Demon Slayer Season Four has not been announced yet. While it is common to see popular series such as this get renewal announcements earlier than most, that has not been the case this time.
However, this is not to say that there will be no Demon Slayer Season Four. While we cannot speculate fully, with season three coming to a close soon, there have been several rumors and Twitter leaks claiming season four of Demon Slayer is already in production.
Although nothing has been confirmed at this time, if these rumors prove to be accurate, I expect fans will not have to wait long for an official season four announcement. It is not uncommon that when a story like this leaks, studios like to get ahead of the speculation by just announcing their plans.
Often, if an anime performs well, it will receive new seasons until the source material runs out. Luckily for fans of the series, there are still plenty of manga chapters left to be adapted.
With the manga having ended in 2020, fans should feel assured knowing that the anime will likely be able to adapt the entire series without any major issues or bumps in the road, like catching up to the source material.
Considering how much fans love this series, expecting a new season as early as 2024 wouldn’t be farfetched. When it comes to a series as popular as Demon Slayer, it doesn’t matter if it’s getting a fourth season, but when?
