We discuss predictions for the Apple TV+ series Foundation Season 2 Episode 7, including the release date and where to watch online.
Season two of Foundation focuses on a number of central storylines. In “Why the Gods Made Wine,” we follow Gaal’s (Lou Llobell) subplot on Ignis, the clerics, as they journey to Trantor, Brother Day’s (Lee Pace) big announcement, and Hober Mallow’s (Dimitri Leonidas) own specific mission.
It’s another standard episode from the series, promoting superb CGI and unprecedented world-building, yet one lacking entirely in the writing department. Here’s what happened in Foundation Season 2, Episode 6:
- Salvor and Hari discuss the adverse effects of the Mentalics. They are infiltrating their dreams and their thoughts. Hari tries to persuade their leader Tellem to help prevent the apocalypse. Tellem just wants to stay out of the conflict though.
- Gaal shows Tellem her future premonitions. Tellem is stunned by Gaal’s powers. She offers her the leadership role with the Mentalics, explaining how she is dying and that they need a new leader to follow.
- Tellem persuades Gaal by stating that she can save Salvor in the process, but Hari must be out of the picture altogether. Hari doesn’t trust Tellem, but Gaal has already been manipulated. Hari asks Salvor to find the Prime Radiant before Tellem does.
- Using their powers, the Mentalics make it look like Hari has escaped on Salvor’s ship, but he is in fact being drowned to death by Tellem.
- Brother Constant and Poly arrive on Trantor as per Hari’s wishes. They are quickly arrested.
- Brother Day unveils a statue and announces Queen Sareth as his new empress. She makes a speech about serving the public. Brother Day is not impressed by this undermining tactic.
- Hober Mallow travels to the coordinates provided by Hari. He is taken aboard a gigantic ship owned by Spacers.
- While Hari drowns, he has flashbacks to important points in his life. He remembers his childhood and then his romance with Yanna. The Empire was worried by Hari’s research and had Yanna killed. In retaliation, Hari killed one of their informants.
- Back in the present, Hari drowns to death underwater.
Foundation Season 2 Episode 7 Release Date and Time
Episode 7 will be released on Apple TV+ on Friday, August 25th, 2023, at 12 a.m. PT. Episode 7 is titled “A Necessary Death” and will have a run time of 54 minutes.

Predictions
- From the title alone, it doesn’t sound very hopeful for Hari. I think he will probably be killed by Tellem. Although Gaal and Salvor will be none the wiser.
- They will stay on Ignis, where they will be trained by Tellem. Salvor will start to suspect that something is off, though. They’ll quickly uncover Tellem’s plans, but it may be too late for them by this point.
- Brother Day will punish Sareth for her disobedience. They will argue constantly on the build-up to their wedding day. Brother Day will force Sareth to have his baby.
- Brother Constant and Poly will be taken hostage. They will be interrogated by Demerzel about their mission.
- Hober Mallow will start to uncover more of Hari’s intricate plan with the Spacers.
