Howdy. You’ve reached the makeshift digital hub of the Ready, Steady, Cut! Xbox GamerScore challenge. Welcome.
I know what you’re thinking – what the fuck is this?
Let me tell you: it’s probably a bad idea. But, despite us starting out as a movie-centric website and podcast, we’ve since expanded to incorporate other forms of media, including video games. And what better way to entice new people into the warm embrace of RSC than having them witness a soul-destroying attempt at accomplishing something utterly meaningless. Luckily, we have someone on hand who does this kind of thing for fun.
The player: Jonathon Wilson. Our reviews editor. An idiot.
The goal: To take a fresh Xbox Live account from 0 to 100,000 GamerScore between July 25 and December 25, 2017. Five months of questionable games, sleepless nights, and mundane repetition, for the viewing pleasure of all.
We’re doing this because it’ll be fun, and it’ll be funny. We’ll stream it, live-tweet it, blog about it. The community will get their say. We’ll run polls and let people make in-game decisions for us. We’ll post pictures and videos. Each game played as part of the challenge will get its own written companion piece; a little memorial of our time spent there. Will we succeed? Will Jonathon lose his mind? You get to see.
