Star Wars Trailer Drops Tonight!

Scheduled to release during Monday Night Football here in the States is the new trailer for Star WarsThe Last Jedi. The movie is releasing December 15th and is expected to be the cinema event of the year.

The director Rian Johnson upped the drama by stating that people who want to go into this movie “clean” should use restraint and not watch the trailer. He later changed the tone to dispel rumours the trailer was spoiler-heavy by stating that he meant “100% clean.”

Despite the rhetoric, assuredly millions will watch the trailer tonight either during the game or online. Will you have the discipline to wait for the movie?

Don’t worry about it – when the trailer is live, we’ll embed it here, and we can all discuss it together.

UPDATE

Here’s the trailer. Feast your eyes on it, then discuss it in the comments below. (If you like.)

Review – The Death and Life of Marsha P. Johnson

This documentary follows the life and death of Marsha P. Johnson. She was a gay African American who was a leading figure in fighting for gay rights from the beginning of the movement. However, in 1992 she was found dead, floating in the Hudson River.

Although this documentary is enlightening as we follow the life of an extremely powerful voice in the LGBT community, unfortunately, the documentary does not offer the high-quality coverage Marsha P. Johnson deserves.

Review – American Vandal

At first glance, it is easy to mistake American Vandal as a serious documentary series. It has that Netflix documentary font, the mysterious introductory music, and an open question monologue. You then realise that initially, it is about one thing:

Penis drawings.

I succinctly remember rolling my eyes when Lad Bible and Unilad starting getting excited over the Netflix trailers. American Vandal is a mockumentary series that displays itself as a satire of true crime documentaries. The series follows the aftermath of a costly high school prank that led to the expulsion of “class clown” Dylan Maxwell (Jimmy Tatro). He claims his innocence despite the overwhelming evidence. The prank? Drawings of a huge penis spray-painted on 27 faculty cars. Sophomore Peter Maldonado (Tyler Alvarez) leads the investigation and is seen as the “filmmaker”.
