How does Dead to Me season 2, episode 3, “You Can’t Live Like This” begin?
Jen hears something in the house so investigates. She finds Judy in the garage playing ocean sounds and keeping Steve “company”. Jen is concerned that Judy isn’t sticking to the plan and tells her to move on.
Suddenly both women are spooked by noises and lights turning on in the garage. Jen pokes the freezer and loads of rats come from underneath. The rodent investigator says that rats can smell meat and blood.
Judy thinks it’s a sign to move Steve and wants to do a burial at sea. Jen sarcastically states she does not have a boat license and wants to put Steve in a suitcase to get rid of him.
It’s clear in episode 3 that Judy forgets that Steve is a monster. She blames herself for Steve’s death and the character is struggling to come to terms with the fact that he is dead.
“It’s my Karma”.
Jen reassures her it isn’t her fault but Judy says they cannot live like this.
What’s happening with the freezer then?
The freezer is making loads of noises and it’s driving Jen insane, giving her flashbacks to the night.
One of Henry’s friends, Shandy, catches her searching “how to get rid of a dead body” and says if she was to get rid of a dead body, she’d take it to this forest she learnt about on the dark web. Jen starts using the dark web.
She’s really in deep now.
Is she ready to move the body?
Jen checks out the freezer again and looks at Steve’s dead body. Henry walks in with Shandy and she freaks out — “I just need you to get the f**k out of here”.
She then heads to a hardware store to find a solution that can dissolve a body.
How does Dead to Me season 2, episode 3, “You Can’t Live Like This” end?
Jen tests the solution on a rat in the bath with PPE gear on and Judy catches her. She’s horrified, stating they cannot get rid of the body this way. Judy suggests waiting for the children to go to college (7 years away).
Jen is emotional and says Judy is right, that they cannot live like this. As Jen is about to tell Judy the truth, that it wasn’t self-defense when she killed Steve, there is a power cut.
They now have a new problem; the body might thaw. Jen has a new plan but she still hasn’t told Judy the truth, which is ironic as “the truth” was Judy’s issue in Season 1.
The roles have reversed. Dead to Me season 2, episode 3, “You Can’t Live Like This” is turning out just to be as good as its predecessor.
