Season 1 did not end The Commission, which means that Season 2 needed to bring in some new blood to liven up the action. Very early on in the second season, we are introduced to three blonde-haired men that seem to have a knack for violence. They also seem to know what they are doing. So who are the three blonde-haired men in The Umbrella Academy season 2?
Are they part of The Commission?
Yes, it’s very obvious from the start that these men are working for The Commission as they are given instructions on who to go after next. They appear to work well in unison, with a no-mercy and brutal approach that reminds us of the days of Hazel and Cha-Cha (bless them).
Why are all three men blonde?
They are brothers — again, it’s pretty obvious based on appearance and how they work in unison that they are related. As they are brothers, it feels more personal to the story as the danger of one brother could mean ramifications.
What does The Umbrella Academy season 2 refer to the men as?
After a few episodes in, we learn that the nickname of the three men is The Swedes. Presumably, because they are from Sweden.
Are they important to the story?
They are not as important as Hazel and Cha-Cha — the writers have chosen a less emotional story involving the assassins from The Commission, choosing a more straightforward approach. It’s a shame because there is a sense that the brothers could have easily been more effective in the story, rather than just raging murderers ready to carry out their missions.
