Summary
“We Do Our Talking on the Ice” brings everything together for the charity game as betrayals are revealed — the pressure is on for the lead characters.

The last two episodes have been building to a hockey game, and the charity match finally arrives. However, as it’s only for charity, I’m not sure what all the fuss is about.
Kayla and Jacob are readying themselves for their performance on the rink with the charity game looming. Meanwhile, Mac continues to be irked by Carson, and so he should be — Carson has stolen his tactics notebook. In the morning, Carson offers Mac his breakfast as he’s run out of his favorite, which makes Mac suspicious. Mac learns that Carson has read the tactics book, and he’s fretting. He speaks to Kayla, believing it’s all his fault — he has no idea that Ava gave Carson the book. Kayla reassures him and tells him that Anton Hammarstrom chose him and that nothing will go wrong. This is a nice moment between the siblings. However, they are always three conversations from falling out again.
Accusing Sky of being jealous
Kayla grabs Sky and asks for her help with the music for the showcase at the hockey game. There’s a tension between them. Kayla believes that Sky is jealous of her and Jacob. Sky tells her that she doesn’t listen. In their fallout, Kayla asks Archie to help out with the music instead.
Game time
It’s game time in Zero Chill season 1, episode 5, and Anton gives his team a roaring pre-game speech, but Mac is extremely nervous due to what happened with the tactical notebook. He then learns that Jacob and Kayla are doing a showcase as part of the charity game, and he’s furious — Jacob tells Mac that they are not doing it as he senses his anger. But really, Jacob is just a flakey character.
Jacob sneaks off
Mac encourages his team to do something in the game that Orcas do not expect, but it backfires. Meanwhile, Sky finds Jacob, and he’s sneaking off in a taxi with his parents. Jacob tells Sky that the showcase will not be happening. Sky tells him that Kayla will be devastated and learns that her friend doesn’t know — she’s disgusted at him.
The ending
During the game, Mac confronts Carson as he gets too aggressive with Bear. The game is paused, and Kayla gets on the ice to start her showcase with Jacob. Sky tries to tell her, but she doesn’t make it in time. The music doesn’t come on, and she’s stood alone, but then Sky comes on the ice to join her. The friends dance together. Suddenly, Sky falls over, and there’s a shock in the arena as people rush to her aid. Kayla begins to sob as she sees Sky unconscious.

- Ava tells her father that she loves hockey, so he buys her an expensive Hammarstrom hockey shirt. Anton tells Ava she can sit on the bench with him. Her mother tells Ava she doesn’t want to coach her anymore, disapproving of her getting involved with hockey.
